Contradictory Note[edit]

Some people have mentioned that if you forge an item on a full moon at midnight (When the moon is right above the hole in the ceiling) Your weapons and armor will gain Lunar properties. CONFIRMED FOR FALSE: At no point in the lunar cycle is the moon above the hole in the ceiling. Sat there for a full month to see if this was true. At no point was any change found in the forge.

I've removed this. Further research may need to be done, but having a self-contradicting note on the page isn't what we want. --Legoless 23:32, 3 December 2011 (UTC)

Someone has added the note back in, so it should be removed again 216.59.229.234 20:27, 16 January 2012 (UTC)
The addition was:
You can forge lunar weapons at midnight and only when the 2 moons are showing and at their fullest. this happens every 3 days or so
I removed it and added a verification needed tag to the other statement. --Alfwyn 20:36, 16 January 2012 (UTC)
I'm pretty sure it works only on two full moons — Unsigned comment by 99.93.5.109 (talk) at 01:43 on 29 May 2012

() The forge itself cannot be used to make the weapons. You can enchant weapons at any time with the enchantments, but the forge does not grant the enchantment when making a weapon. EDIT The connection is between the enchantment and the moons, as in it works at night, and has nothing to do with a connection between forge and the moons. Courier[edit]

Although what was added about the courier may be true, this can happen for many different dungeons. Therefore it is redundant and has been removed. --◊Scythe◊ 19:38, 22 January 2012 (UTC)

Animal Trap?[edit]

The 'Silent Moons Camp' section mentions an animal trap, but there doesn't seem to be one. Someone probably confused this with Halted_Stream_Camp nearby. --84.175.170.231 09:37, 28 January 2012 (UTC)

I agree, I'll remove this as I've gone to take a look myself and can find no such pit at silent moon camp. The one described sounds very much like the one at Halted Stream. Thuraya Salaris 10:22, 28 January 2012 (UTC)

The pool south of the camp[edit]

While I didn't find the pool referred to in the article (with the silver ore) I did come upon a pond with a skeleton hand holding a sword sticking up out of the water. Will try and get picture.--Titania 18:40, 15 February 2012 (UTC)

Pretty sure you're describing something that already appears in the easter egg page. Minor EditsThreatsEvidence 07:16, 29 February 2012 (UTC)
If you Fast Travel to Silent Moons Camp, turn directly east and slightly south, you will see a rocky outcrop. The silver ore is at its base. Philbert (talk) 04:05, 17 September 2013 (GMT)

Moonstone[edit]

I have tried for a long time to locate the Moonstone ore veins north of the camp. By counting my paces, it seems like 410 feet north of the edge of the structure is somewhere west of Volunruud, but i was still not able to find anything. I had no trouble finding the gold or silver, however. Could someone post more specific directions? I have not searched as futilely for something since trying to complete a Morrowind quest. Team a 19:35, 1 May 2012 (UTC)

If you click the map link and zoom in. They are almost directly southwest of Volunruud, you shouldn't need to climb any rocks either. The Silencer has spokenTalk 19:50, 1 May 2012 (UTC)
The directions in the article aren't detailed. Go to the northwest corner of the Silent Moons Camp site, outside all the walls and structures. There is a slope leading north up the small mountain between the Silent Moons Camp and Volunruud, though it may be necessary to walk a short distance west around a rocky outcrop to find the base of the correct slope. The slope has several trees on it and is quite steep. It is not possible to walk directly up the slope, but it can be zigzagged. The moonstone ore veins are at the top of that slope where the grass-covered ground ends in mountain rock. On the world map, the spot is almost due north of Silent Moons Camp and southwest of Volunruud and about halfway between them.104.15.180.18 15:54, 27 August 2017 (UTC)

Heavy Armor Forging[edit]

Added a line about this skill book, since it seemed a little weird that only Light Armor Forging would be noted. If someone would like to clarify my description that would be great - I'm working off of memory and the map as to where exactly the book is, and my describing skills are sadly lacking today. 72.42.155.45 01:25, 12 September 2013 (GMT)

No Heavy Armor Forging book[edit]

I've done this this location dozens of times, its one of my soul harvesting points and early game skill training locations, and have never seen this skill book (Light Armor Forging is there though). Was just going through the WIKI for this place and saw that entry so I went searching. Nope, Nada. There are 3 Iron Ore on a table on the outer ring where the map shows the book should be but no skill book anywhere. I searched inside the outer ring (dome), outside the dome, and even the battlements. Verified in my stats that no skill books had been read (just in case). Anyone have an idea what's up? (PS3 - Latest Patch - No DLC) Thanks!! Philbert (talk) 03:52, 17 September 2013 (GMT)

Chances are you either missed it or odd physics knocked the book off. You're definitely going through a doorway and ending up in a small room with a roof? It's definitely supposed to be there on the PC version. If someone else could confirm, it may have accidentally been removed from PS3 or console versions. If I get the time, I can check to see if it's there without DLC later. Vely►t►e 04:09, 17 September 2013 (GMT)
Hmmm - No doorway to a small room. Where is the door in relation to the table/rubble that is in the outer ring straight north of the door into the forge area and what triggers it to open? Philbert (talk) 04:37, 17 September 2013 (GMT)
There is no door. There is a doorway. It is to the north. There's a circular area enclosed by walls; inside the wall ring is that room. I can nab a pic later though. Vely►t►e 13:48, 17 September 2013 (GMT)
Are you talking about the entrance to the forge area where the 3 bandits are hard at work? Yes, that is there along with the forge, Grindstone, Table with "Light Armor ..." Skillbook, "Notes on Lunar ..." book, and chest. Exiting that room to the north, slightly east (icon for Volunruud is dead center), you see a table that has rubble to the west side of it, where the iron ingots are (I said ore earlier, my bad). But, there is no Heavy Armor book and I've never seen one. And, in that outer ring (Hallway or wall ring?) there is no additional openings, only the exits if you follow the hall left or right, that faces southward down the steps. Pic of the skill book in its position would be great when you have time, as far back as possible for orientation. And thanks!!! :) Philbert (talk) 15:25, 17 September 2013 (GMT)
It should be in that spot. Turns out it's initially disabled (so you can't see it) regardless of DLC. I have no idea what might enable it. Vely►t►e 16:42, 17 September 2013 (GMT)
Well, at least that explains it LOL -- Thanks!!! Philbert (talk) 22:21, 17 September 2013 (GMT)

() I noticed a question was placed on my "bug" entry. Here are my questions on that. 1) Does "anyone" see that book? 2) If that is a "enabled" book, what enables it? Thanks!!

Note. If that is an enabled book but there is no way to enable it, that is indeed a bug :) Philbert (talk) 02:54, 22 September 2013 (GMT)

Going by the section above (Heavy Armor Forging), someone did see it, though there are doubts. The question mark is simply asking if anyone else can confirm this bug, and the reason Vely didn't was "I can't find what enables it, but it could be enabled at some point". He left it open in the hopes someone proficient in coding (such as the USKP guys) might come along and shed some more light. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 03:37, 1 October 2013 (GMT)
That book location (ref 000ff884) is disabled. This reference is not referenced by anything else in the game data - so from all we know about how the engine works, it cannot be enabled by something. Documentation of it's location was done initially by Nephele from the game data before the CK was out and the disabled flag understood. It was initially not found by the editor writing the page, then added by someone "working off of memory". Vely apparently did see the book only in the CK (?). What is missing is a solid ingame verification that the book can be seen and we have pretty hard evidence in the game data that it isn't there. I think at this point we would need an ingame description how to find it that can actually be repeated ingame by others to justify documenting it as a location. --Alfwyn (talk) 15:34, 30 December 2013 (GMT)
User-CompleCCity-000FF884.JPG
I think I have to confirm what Alfwyn says. The book is initally disabled (CK-Wiki: "The reference starts disabled ("not there") and must be enabled through script or game events before it will appear.") and nothing in uptodate Skyrim.esm, Update.esm or Dawnguard.esm (the latter last changed the cell) will enable it. I don't believe, anyone did see it in the game without changing the reference to enabled by some mod. (Though I can't exclude that it was not disabled in an older version of Skyrim before some patches …)
I looked into the CK and added a screenshot – not in-game! It "lies" on the same table as the iron ingots.
Shouldn't it then be taken from the page? If all like that would be listed, there's much to add, I think. For example, I could add a Food Barrel under Bugs at Bleak Falls Barrow – there is one, several ft underneath the steps that lead to the temple and thus inaccessable. Could be a bug, misplaced or something. So, shall we remove this book here?

Fun Fact about Silent Moons Camp[edit]

The Silent Moons enchanted weaponry will not appear unless the player is level 2 or higher. Fancy Shmancy devs thinking of everything.Vainamoinen -Talk -Stuff 19:05, 1 December 2014 (GMT)

Bandits can't find player on roof of central ruin?[edit]

My observations right here are that the bandits plain can't reach a player that is on top of the central ruins from the direction opposite the proper opening, which can be jumped to from at least one point from behind these ruins, so long as the player isn't visible to the central circle (else they stand in there and shoot at you.) I've seen them appear to have 360 degree vision, but that could reasonabally just be my stealth mod. — Unsigned comment by 106.70.173.116 (talk) at 23:51 on 9 July 2020
