Moved note from article[edit]

I moved the following note from the article to here:

  • Reavers are probably based on the Border Reivers of the Anglo-Scottish wars.

This is just speculation. And specifically it is a reference outside of the Elder Scroll games and would belong to Skyrim:Easter Eggs if it should be kept. That it is long standing part of Bloodmoon:Reaver doesn't change those facts. It may mean we should remove it from the Bloodmoon page too. --Alfwyn (talk) 19:02, 10 December 2012 (GMT)

I'd recommend adding it to the Easter eggs page; I just placed it here until that could be created. I strongly oppose removing it outright, as a lot of things from Bloodmoon are heavily influenced by obscure real-world historic terms. The name "reaver" really doesn't make any sense without that knowledge. —Legoless (talk) 21:48, 10 December 2012 (GMT)
It's from the word "reave," which means to tear or cut something apart...
It's just a form of the

Inventory[edit]

On Reaver Lords, I typically find a full set of Nordic Carved Armor, Elven weaponry, 2 Iron Ingots, and 250 gold. Level 78. Minor EditsThreatsEvidence 04:01, 13 December 2012 (GMT)

'Dude looks like a Lady'[edit]

Very odd happening today... I was playing Dragonborn on my PS3 when I decided to use the 'Calm' spell on a Reaver Outlaw (I almost never use those kinds of Illusion spells). To my surprise, the Male Reaver sheathed his weapon and started walking away... like a woman. Seriously, he had the Female walking animation... Has anyone else encountered this? unique dialogues?[edit]

In most cases, Reavers have the same dialogues as bandits. Do they really share the same dialogues? I've noticed some special dialogues. When a reaver find a body, he may say "Death does not diminish." or "Ash and ice! Who did this? Come out and face me like a man!" I can hardly remember any bandits said anything like this. I couldn't find any clues in the bandits page too. Got any ideas? Dreamshadow (talk) 14:51, 4 April 2013 (GMT)

I'm not sure what I was looking at when I drafted this version, but Jimeee stumbled on some unique dialogue lines for reavers (thanks!), so it appears they definitely do exist and I just missed it before. They should all be there now, though! eshetalk 15:57, 4 April 2013 (GMT)

Talkative Re animated reavers[edit]

I've found that some reavers, when reanimated via spells or the ritual stone, don't moan but have play their idle quotes. Not sure if this extends to all reavers or just the ones that started out dead in tombs.

Yep same here. —Will • B[talk] 17:40, 22 April 2023 (UTC)
