Welcome![edit]

Hiya Dreamshadow! Welcome to UESPWiki. It's great when we get new members. Just thought I'd send you a welcome with some helpful info. Check out the following links:

If you would like to spice up your userpage, take a look at the Userboxes page: a near complete list of userboxes, including a guide to making your own.

When you're editing, it's always a good idea to leave edit summaries to explain the changes you have made to a particular page, and remember to sign your talk page posts with four tildes ~~~~ (do not sign edits to articles). Also, the "show preview" button is a great way to view the changes you've made so far without actually saving the page (patrollers really appreciate it!).

Feel free to practice editing in the sandbox or discuss the games in the forums. If you need any help, don't hesitate to contact one of our mentors. Have fun!

Shiny! Loving all the colors ;). eshetalk 14:02, 27 March 2013 (GMT)
Very nice! I'm in a templating mood lately, so I shoved this into a template for you. I haven't documented it yet, but as you can imagine, it works like this...

SR-perktree-Destruction.jpg This user is a master of Destruction.
I hope you like it. I kept all the colours exactly as you have them on this page. Daric 13:33, 29 March 2013 (GMT)
Oh, great! How kind of you, thanks very much~ Dreamshadow (talk) 14:16, 29 March 2013 (GMT)
The documentation is done now, and I left it open to others to add the skills from the other TES games, so that we don't get accused of being one eyed about this 😉 Daric 04:19, 30 March 2013 (GMT)
I added in MW and OB support, but didn't fill in all the colors. If you'd like to select some colors for the skills from those games, feel free. Just thought I'd make the options available. — TheRealLurlock (talk) 16:50, 30 March 2013 (GMT)
Thank you very much. I'm feeling motivated now. It hard for me to decide which color to use, especially for OB. I didn't play MW or OB before. Maybe it would wiser to leave these decisions to every UESPWikian. They have their understanding of these skills and preference for colors. By the way, here is a brief note. The colors for Skyrim skills are based on the main color of the skill tree backgrounds. In a single box, the two colors share the same hue (HSB model), the slight differences are brightness and saturation.Dreamshadow (talk) 23:57, 30 March 2013 (GMT)

Images[edit]

Hey there! I see you've been fixing image lighting. Did you check out the guideline here? Whether you have or not, the images you've been fixing aren't really ideal; the colors seem to have changed and the resulting lighting is unnatural for those spots in the game. While it's great that you're looking at improving the images, in some of these cases, it would be better to just retake the image in-game with better lighting rather than editing the current one. It would be great if you could make the images look more "natural" as they would appear in the game. Thanks! Vely►t►e 02:23, 4 April 2013 (GMT)

Thanks for your reminder. I have checked some related images to ensure the colors are right. For example, Bujold's Retreat, the first picture is ok, so I just fixed the color of the second picture to match the first one to make them have similar colors. I won't make the change casually. I will be more careful, thank you anyway. My apology, I didn't mean to mess them up...... Dreamshadow (talk) 02:40, 4 April 2013 (GMT)

Advice[edit]

Hello and welcome to UESPWiki! Thanks for your interest in the wiki; however, you seem to have been making multiple edits to a page by not using the show preview button, clogging up the Recent Changes in the process. We appreciate your enthusiasm, but keep in mind that each edit needs to be patrolled, so multiple consecutive edits create an unnecessary hassle on those who patrol. So please utilize this feature! You may also want to look over our style guide and Getting Started guide. Feel free to ask if you have any questions. ThuumofReason (talk) 12:14, 19 April 2013 (GMT)

I see. As you know, I am working on my sandbox in order to creat the Adoption page. That's why I've made a lot of changes. Forgive me for my English, I have to check every section and correct my mistakes. Sorry for the trouble. Dreamshadow (talk) 12:19, 19 April 2013 (GMT)
It's okay, you're not doing anything wrong. It would just help if you would use show preview to make sure there are no typos BEFORE you make the edit, as it means us patrollers have less work to do :-) ThuumofReason (talk) 12:33, 19 April 2013 (GMT)
I can understand. The page is done now~ Feel free to make any changes. I'm sure I can use a lot of help and fix. Dreamshadow (talk) 12:43, 19 April 2013 (GMT)
Will do. Great work, by the way. ThuumofReason (talk) 13:58, 19 April 2013 (GMT)

Neloth image[edit]

Hi Dreamshadow, thanks for the combat image you provided for the Neloth page. I looked at the image and after some testing with placement on the page, I think I should have specified that a 1:1 is preferred - sorry for not mentioning that! I am hoping to add it to the dialogue table at the bottom, so 1:1 works best. I hope you don't mind if I re-request the image with a few tweaks in the description :) --Jimeee (talk) 15:36, 15 May 2013 (GMT)

Never mind, I'd like to have a try and take some new screenshots ingame. Dreamshadow (talk) 15:48, 15 May 2013 (GMT)

Ditto! I haven't been around as much as I was in the past, but I've seen your name a lot when I do check in. You have been adding a lot of content to pages around the wiki lately, and it's really appreciated. You're doing a great job, so thanks! — ABCface 12:59, 20 May 2013 (GMT)
It would be my honor to have the chance to make some changes to our pages. Yeah, our pages. At first, I just wanted to polish up my English here for some personal need. Gradually, I've realized it's a great joy to work together you all and make contributions to so many readers. UESPholic? Maybe. I think the spirits of UESP have cheered me up and enabled me to do so many things that I have never dreamed of. I won't forget the welcome message and encouragements you gave me. They do mean a lot to me. Thank you very much!
BTW, I do hope my recent changes won't cause too much trouble to our patrollers. Dreamshadow (talk) 13:36, 20 May 2013 (GMT)
I am glad you are enjoying it, and if you are a UESPholic, don't worry- you're definitely not alone! :) And your edits are all in good faith and very helpful for the wiki, so you are not causing any trouble for patrollers. Keep it up. :) — ABCface 16:05, 20 May 2013 (GMT)

Happy Birthday![edit]

Borkul[edit]

Well, now I'm completely confused and wondering if perhaps my game is a little screwed up or something. It looks like the Intimidate and Brawl options are essentially the same. If you're going to succeed the Intimidate check, it should display the Intimidate option; if you're going to fail, it should display the Brawl option. Except that I'm level 93 and have a Speech of 99 (and I even tried raising it to 100 via the console, just to be sure), and I still don't get the Intimidate version. Intimidate is supposed to be level and Speech dependent, so I suspect there's something buggy there and the Intimidate version will never display. Damned if I know what could be causing it, though, because everything looks okay to me. Robin Hood  (talk) 16:14, 23 May 2013 (GMT)

Yeah, I think it would be a bug then. Or Bethesda just removed the option from the game. In a common speech check, you won't have Intimidate and Brawl at the same time. Intimidate, fail and brawl or Intimidate, fail and nothing. This one is really special. It's necessary to let you know, I'm working on a "speech check tables project", create or update all speech checks in each quest with a standard table. In order to get the list of quests with a speech check, I used a list on Speech page. Follow each record and check it in game, get all possible options, and creat the table. I've got some questions with the list during the last few days.
  • According to the CK, Erdi's Speech check is Easy (25), so just about anybody can pass it. At a Speechcraft of 21, I didn't get the line, but at 26, I did, so it seems to be working fine.
  • The requirements for this one are complex, so make sure you've satisfied all of them:
  1. You're not trespassing.
  2. You've committed a petty crime, not a violent one.
  3. You haven't bribed the guard (since, obviously, a bribed guard shouldn't be arresting you).
  4. Your Speech is 75+ or you're wearing the Amulet of Articulation. Robin Hood  (talk) 18:08, 24 May 2013 (GMT)

Kibell quotes[edit]

Hey Dreamshadow, I was unable to verify the quote that you've added to Skyrim:Kibell. These are the actual in-game quotes... without Hearthfire. Is it possible that you've mixed it up with the quote of another carriage driver added by Hearthfire - or does Hearthfire actually change Kibell's dialogue?! Oh, and a very belated Happy Birthday to you! :) Holomay (talk) 21:10, 28 May 2013 (GMT)

Thank you. Yeah, I've checked them in the CSList, sorry, my mistake. All dialogue for Kibell can be found here, on his own page http://cs.uesp.net/index.php?game=sr&formid=0x0003f21e. The quotes added by me can be found here http://cs.uesp.net/index.php?game=sr&formid=0x000e8f28 They are carriage system dialogue, not quite sure how to trigger them in-game though. By the way, if you want more info about any NPC with the help of CSList, use this link, http://cs.uesp.net/index.php?game=sr&rec=DIAL&search=&more=More... enter their names and search. Hope you like it. Dreamshadow (talk) 23:47, 28 May 2013 (GMT)
I've looked up the carriage system dialogue in the Creation Kit. There's a lot of dialogue (including this one) that seems to be unused – response texts such as "That's Whiterun up on the hill there. We'll be at the main gate before you know it", "The Braidwood Inn's up that way.", "Going straight through or did you want to stop somewhere along the way?" or "I don't know if we can outrun 'em." (!!) indicate that a much more elaborate carriage system was planned. Still, I have no idea if Hearthfire activates any of these topics, but I'm probably going to download it soon. --Holomay (talk) 08:07, 29 May 2013 (GMT)

Oblivion Weapons[edit]

Hi, I've added the images for the weapons of oblivion to the respective Page. I hope you are satisfied with the way I did this, if not change it ;-). But a short look at the talk page brought me this statement, although you didn't upload images for the fine steel weapons. Do you make up that? I'd do myself, but currently I don't have oblivion installed and I'd like all of this images to be in the same style (wich will be yours, then). -- SarthesArai Talk 16:33, 1 June 2013 (GMT)

You'll have my support and feel free to finish them all. Sadly, I can't provide you with more images of oblivion weapons. I made these images with the old images of the page (as you can see), just some Photoshop work. Maybe you can make an image request and use these images as an example, someone else may give you a hand, sorry for this. Dreamshadow (talk) 23:56, 1 June 2013 (GMT)
It would be preferable if these sort of images were .png files with transparent backgrounds. The .jpg artifacts on the forced cream background can be unsightly. —Legoless (talk) 16:04, 2 June 2013 (GMT)
I see and I'll be willing to have a try. Dreamshadow (talk) 16:10, 2 June 2013 (GMT)
Good news. My Photoshop works very fine. Time is late for me today. I think I can get them done tomorrow. Sorry for the trouble then, lots of extra work (rename or delete) will be necessary. 80 images in total. Dreamshadow (talk) 16:29, 2 June 2013 (GMT)
You'll need to re-upload. A jpg file cannot be renamed to a png. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 16:31, 2 June 2013 (GMT)
All images are ready now, both .png and .jpg files. I'm not quite sure how to use them in OB:weapon page. Feel free to make use of them and delete the unnecessary files. Dreamshadow (talk) 10:40, 3 June 2013 (GMT)

Test Cells[edit]

Hey, to cut you off before you post anymore of these, please reconsider adding this information to those pages. It's not strictly speaking all that relevant. You can do tons of things in the test cells, but we don't mention them everywhere. Were we to do this, you'd see almost every single article with a reference to them (including every single item in the game). As that would be overly repetitive, that info should go with info on the test cell itself, and not with the items or critters in it. --AKB Talk Cont Mail 00:21, 11 June 2013 (GMT)

Thanks for your advice. In fact, the creatures you can spawn in the test cell are limited to a small range (not so many), mostly Dragonborn creatures. And some interesting facts may be worth to have a note. For example, you can only find Horker Youngling and Solstheim Mudcrab there. The Arch Cultists spawned there will have standard outfits (not warlock outfits as you can see in normal game). If you think these special notes should be added, just let me know and I'll limit my notes to these specials cases too. Dreamshadow (talk) 00:39, 11 June 2013 (GMT)

Have fun![edit]

Hiya Dreamshadow, I just noticed your notice on your userpage and wanted to tell you to have a good vacation! We'll miss ya being active around the wiki, but look forward to seeing ya back when you're less busy with real-life. :) — ABCface 01:31, 1 July 2013 (GMT)

City Maps Thanks[edit]

Hey Dreamshadow, I just wanted to give a very belated thanks for uploading those image request I had posted. I even noticed you posted the maps and marked them on their respective city pages as well. Double thanks! I've been busy with college so I was off this site for a while. Awesome job. Jake-518 (talk)

Glad to see your message and thanks for your kind words. Enjoy everyday and have fun~ Dreamshadow (talk) 05:46, 4 November 2013 (GMT)

happy birthday[edit]

I just wanted to wish you a happy belated birthday Lorenut (talk) 12:35, 26 May 2014 (GMT)

Thanks very much~ It's really a surprise for me. As you know, I haven't been active on UESP for several months. In fact, I'm busy with the 2nd Summer Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing as a member of the Organising Committee. (Culture and Education Dept.)
Best regards and wishes. Dreamshadow (talk) 13:23, 26 May 2014 (GMT)
