Quest Failed?[edit]

When I enter the mine and start killing the spiders a message pops up saying that I failed the quest. If I kill all the remaining spiders there's still no other quest message and the quest is deleted from my quest log. Also there's not further option of speaking to Filnjar. Did anyone else experience that problem? — Unsigned comment by 188.100.236.135 (talk) at 17:28 on 24 March 2013 (GMT)

The quest fails if Filnjar dies (a script attached to him sets the stage to 250 if he dies, which fails the quest). Besides that, there doesn't seem to be any other way to fail it. Check to see if he's still alive. --AKB Talk Cont Mail 17:28, 24 March 2013 (GMT)

Always repeatable?[edit]

In the bugs section, it says that when the spiders respawn it can reset the quest. Is this always true and will you always be able to re-complete it (acquire the reward again)? 71.103.12.178 23:15, 7 July 2013 (GMT)

In my experience, I've gone back to the mine a couple times and the spiders were there again but I was not able to repeat the quest. Therefore, it is not always repeatable but I'm not really sure as to how often the quest will reset and become repeatable. Forfeit (talk) 23:24, 7 July 2013 (GMT)
Thanks for the quick reply! I'm gonna have to test it out. If i find any set formula to it, I'll be sure to post it. 71.103.12.178 23:45, 7 July 2013 (GMT)

Spiders respawning, killing the miners[edit]

Recently, I ventured to Shor's Stone to marry Skylyga, and went into the mine to confront her. I saw that the spiders were respawning, and exited. Later, I returned to the town at 8pm, and every miner was not at the fire. An investigation of the mine revealed three dead bodies bearing the likeness of each of the miners. So did my game glitch up, or did the spiders kill them all when I entered the mine? — Unsigned comment by 97.73.64.144 (talk) at 15:53 on 24 July 2013

This is a known bug already documented as a confirmed bug on the article. — ABCface 20:45, 24 July 2013 (GMT)
The latest Unofficial Skyrim Patch (v2.1.3) doesn't seem to fix the respawning spider problem. Just had it happen to me upon revisiting the mine, after completing the quest some time ago (I had the same version of uskp enabled throughout the entirety of this playthrough). -Argyle The Tortoise (9/19/15 13:24 EST) — Unsigned comment by 65.94.22.36 (talk) at 17:25 on 19 September 2015 (UTC)

Iron mine not Ebony[edit]

I am using the most recent version of the Unofficial Patches at the writing of this section. I noticed not one ebony ore at all in the mine as I was clearing the mines. Only two Iron ores. Wiki says this is an ebony Mine? — Unsigned comment by 185.17.205.98 (talk) at 17:32 on 10 January 2016

From Redbelly Mine:
  • Despite printed literature and dialogue in game referring to this as an iron mine and the fact that Grogmar gro-Burzag will buy iron ore from you, the veins produce ebony ore.
  • On PC This issue has been addressed by version 1.2.6 of the Unofficial Skyrim Patch; it changes the interior ebony ore veins and the exterior loose ores to iron ore, swapped with Northwind Mine.
We primarily document fully patched, unmodded skyrim; so while the USKP's change makes sense, the mine is essentially an ebony mine without it. -- SarthesArai Talk 20:40, 10 January 2016 (UTC)
