Found Dead[edit]
On two seperate playthroughs I have encountered Lynoit already deceased surrounded by three "Vampire Ash Piles". Aligned with Dawnguard on both playthroughs. Is he found alive if siding with the Volkihar? — Unsigned comment by 142.162.219.248 (talk) at 00:29 on 6 September 2012
- I have found him dead in the same manner just south of Pinemoon Cave, at the edge of the valley it resides on. I have aligned with Volkihar, and have played completely through the main story, no sidequests though. I still have not encountered him, dead or alive, on my Dawnguard aligned character. --Lazlow-FM (talk) 19:35, 23 October 2012 (GMT)

- I too have found him dead with three ash piles, apparently he gave them hell. I'm on the Dawnguard side, on the quest Chasing Echos. I've paused with that questline to do some of the main quests. My main question is: If he is dead will the caches still refill? RandyPeterson (talk) 01:25, 12 February 2013 (GMT)

- He's supposed to be dead. 76.166.130.139 04:39, 7 August 2013 (GMT)

- I assume his death is scripted so as to provide you with the Dawnguard cache points via "Dawnguard Orders - Lynoit." I discovered his body just south of Sunderstone Gorge, again surrounded by three Vampire Ash Piles, having sided with the Dawnguard. However, I question the statement "surrounded by the unlootable bodies of three vampires," as I was able to loot the ash piles. Do the ash piles possibly just occur if the encounter takes place during the day? I discovered his body at around 10am in-game time, and the ash piles could be the effects of the sun on the vampires. The fact that they are lootable may be an glitch that Bethesda overlooked. Thelisaraptor (talk) 18:18, 5 August 2014 (GMT)

Different Equipment[edit]
on my higher level game, I found him wearing a Heavy Dawnguard Armor, with a Dawnguard Warhammer. 74.128.43.180 10:20, 14 June 2014 (GMT)
- I checked the cslist and he can wear either heavy or light at any time. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 14:00, 14 June 2014 (GMT)

- This is a bit trivial, but the page says he wears Dawnguard armor, boots, and gauntlets, but when I found him in my game, he had no gauntlets, nor does he have gauntlets in the image on the page. So it seems either he doesn't wear gauntlets, or he has some chance of wearing gauntlets. Either way, it might be good to rephrase the article. Username12345 (talk) 16:29, 9 June 2015 (UTC)
Dead Thrall[edit]
Lynoit does not seem to make a very good dead thrall, as he often dies when changing cells. And if you leave the cell, even for a short period, his body tends to vanish.--149.160.118.171 02:17, 28 February 2017 (UTC)
Lynoit issue[edit]
From the last time I was on my Skyrim (Ahem, about a year ago....), I recall having a problem trying to figure out where in the world Lynoit's corpse is, but I found the other ones, a long time ago. If I can figure out where HE is, I plan to try and finish the quest-line. Problem is, can he still be encountered long after the other boxes and Dawnguard people are found, early in the quest-line ? So frustrating. On the upside/upsides, Harkon is a wimp and I have a lot of crossbows, which are good against high-powered dragons !!!!!! With the force of the bolt directed to a high-powered dragon, even they become wimps because, I guess the crossbow becomes OP (Overpowered).
P.S. Hello to the UESP crew !!! :) I tend to play my ESO on PS4, and haven't played Skyrim in close to a year, but I still love some Skyrim though.
Cache locations[edit]
Do these not spawn until you find one of the people? I swear I ran into one of them, but never killed her (Dawnguard) and I spawned the key on myself. Do I also have to spawn the notes? — Unsigned comment by FMPhoenixHawk (talk • contribs) at 01:35 on 12 September 2020 (UTC)
- I've done some testing, and it seems the caches spawning is tied solely to reading their orders. You can give yourself the orders using console commands and the caches will still spawn without even meeting the person (provided you read the orders). You also don't need the key since the caches are only expert-locked. It sounds like you encountered Saliah rather than Lynoit, since Lynoit is male and spawns already dead. If you don't want to kill Saliah you can pickpocket the orders or just read them out of her inventory without taking them. However, only the caches that the Dawnguard member was asked to restock will spawn once you read their orders, so if you read just Saliah's orders then Hakar's and Lynoit's caches won't spawn. --O-a11y Talk 05:45, 12 September 2020 (UTC)
