Confusion Kolskeggr Mine/Left Hand Mine[edit]
The article is somewhat wrong. Kolskeggr Mine is separate location Just south of The Lover Stone, up on the cliff from Pavo's House. It's indeed occupied by Forsworn and houses 15 gold veins as well as 2 gold bars and 3 gold ore pieces in the farthest reaches of the mine. Miner's Barracks, Dzighre's House, Skoggi's House and Left hand Mine are just outside Markarth and are not nearly as close to Kolskeggr Mine.
- I just wanted to say the same, but I think it's 18 gold veins, at least I left with 54 gold ore. The other mine (which also has some strange name, Sleggsomething or similar) east of Markarth is just where Pavo and his Orc coworker flew after Kolskeggr was overrun. --93.232.158.150 01:21, 17 November 2011 (UTC)
- Confirming that the description of the exterior is from Left Hand Mine - the confusion arises because the owner of Left Hand Mine gives you the mission to clear Kolskeggr Mine (the surviving miners run to Left Hand & inform him it's been overrun). Also I think I left with 55 gold ore, three of which are found at a table near the end (as far as I know, there is no iron ore there, so that part of the description is also inaccurate). 124.170.15.129 14:50, 20 November 2011 (UTC)
- The total is 17 Gold veins, and three ores and two ingots all on a table near the furthest end of the mine. There is no iron at all. At least, according to the game files. 98.180.215.134 13:11, 22 January 2012 (UTC)
- There was a confusion between LHM and Kolskeggr, leading to some conflation of the ore. Has since been resolved, so this discussion was already outdated when you read it. Everything's fine now :) --Ulkomaalainen 21:18, 22 January 2012 (UTC)

iron[edit]
Says in the article that there is an iron ore vein. I just went through this place and didn't find it. Is it actually there? --Halfstache 05:46, 7 December 2011 (UTC)

- After running through with the glowing ore veins mod, I believe there are no iron veins. I found only gold. 69.226.42.216 05:45, 26 April 2012 (UTC)

- I whent there and left with all the viens depleted and came back about a month and a half later in the game and the viens were still depleted. I then waited another 17 days and they were still depleted, does anyone know what is wrong? — Unsigned comment by 62.255.142.83 (talk) on January 2, 2012 12:24

- I've encountered the same problem, both here and at Soljund's Sinkhole. Neither of these mines is Clearable - I wonder perhaps that has anything to do with it? 76.185.41.201 02:33, 22 January 2012 (UTC)

- There are a total of FOUR gold ingots, the two mentioned as being on the table near the end plus two more in an open crate in the cart with a roof that is under the wooden walkway that you travel over, near the 5 ore veins that are together. - Biffa — Unsigned comment by 90.202.87.105 (talk) at 12:02 on 21 January 2013

Respawns after 30 days, not 10[edit]
Kolskeggr Mine says it respawns after 10 days, but it actually respawns after 30. It never shows "Cleared" after clearing it out. Can someone fix the page to reflect this? — Unsigned comment by VycDarkshadow (talk • contribs) at 20:16 on 20 June 2012
- Somebody needs to confirm this before we change the article. --Xyzzy 03:30, 21 June 2012 (UTC)
- Confirmed by setting the timescale to a high value and running 10 days and 30 days before returning to the mine. After 10 days the mine was empty and the veins had not respawned but on a second load of the same game and waiting 30 days the mine had respawned both the Forsworn and the ore veins.--DagmarH (talk) 02:03, 5 September 2012 (EDT)
- Respawn time is either 10 or 30 days depending on whether the Forsworn Briarheart in the top of the mine is left alive. The mine isn't "clearable", so after the 30 days, if you leave the Forsworn Briarheart alive on subsequent visits, respawn time is only 10 days.--Vilding (talk) 16:10, 14 March 2023 (UTC)

I can confirm this. I can also confirm that the Gold Ore Veins do not respawn. — Unsigned comment by 142.134.211.36 (talk) at 07:55 on 19 July 2012
- This is incorrect. Per my testing above, gold ore veins do respawn. They were glitched (could not be mined) but exiting and reentering the mine fixed the glitch as usual.--DagmarH (talk) 02:03, 5 September 2012 (EDT)
possible miner safty[edit]
Would it be possible to use some form of conjuration to move all the forsworn bodies. So that they do not respawn there? Both the ones inside and outside of the mine? — Unsigned comment by 68.238.152.79 (talk) at 09:18 on 30 June 2012
- In short, no. Regardless of where you drag their bodies, the Forsworn will still respawn inside the mine. Kitkat •Talk•Contrib•E-mail 09:25, 30 June 2012 (UTC)
Bug?[edit]
The fact that the forsworn respawn should be seen as an oversight, no? Has anyone checked the creation kit to see if it is a bug? ChildofKyne (talk) 17:54, 8 September 2014 (GMT)
