See The Cursed Tribe for the link between these locations. Korbnep 14:35, 6 February 2012 (UTC)

Frostbite Spiders[edit]

When I entered it was inhabited by Frostbite Spiders. ```` — Unsigned comment by 75.84.177.221 (talk) at 01:52 on 20 February 2012 (UTC)

Me too. This may be due to leveling; my character was only level 14, and we were not on the Cursed Grove quest, just exploring. 174.6.51.17 21:33, 29 October 2012 (GMT)

Book found[edit]

I've just found a book 'incident at necrom' right next to the first silver birch tree you come to when moving due south from the silver and orichalcum veins towards the entrance, it was hard to see right at the base of the tree, not sure if there is always a book here and if it's random. verification needed. Yes, this is a guaranteed location, and I've added it to the page. Thanks for bringing it up! — ABCface 13:16, 15 September 2013 (GMT)

Apprentice Level Chest[edit]

I could find no apprentice level chest where indicated in the guide through this location, per the following text.

"The exit passage is to the southeast, and rises sharply as it turns to the southwest and then to the northwest. During the quest, two bone chimes will be hanging from the ceiling at the entrance to this tunnel, but they are too high for you to trigger accidentally. At the top, the passage opens into a small cave containing an apprentice-locked chest and two leveled animals (normally bears or trolls), unless they came to investigate fighting earlier. The cave is covered in bones, both human and animal, and features the body of an Orc. Just past the corpse is a tunnel rising to the southwest, which leads to the exit to Giant's Grove.

North of the exit passage is the entrance to a narrow tunnel, which also rises quite steeply to the northwest. This tunnel leads back into the massive main cavern, onto a narrow ledge that follows the wall of the cavern to the west. Continue following the ledge until you have passed a mammoth skull, after which it is safe to drop off the edge to land on the top ledge where you initially entered the cave."

I did however find an apprentice level chest on the 'exit ledge' before the mammoth skull.

Perhaps the guide text should read:

I found a potion in the small cave near the orc body, this was unmentioned in the guide and would need verification along with whether the chest error I mentioned is to be fixed.

I had the same "problem" locating the chest in the bear cave - then I discovered that the Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch (Version48 and probably earlier versions) does indeed move the "boss-level" chest from the cliffside exit pathway and puts it in the bear cave, where I assume it was originally intended to be. Hope that helps.
