Bone Marrow[edit]

Why was Bone Marrow renamed Shambles Marrow, when it clearly shows in my inventory as Bone Marrow? --Silver 08:14, 1 April 2007 (EDT)

If it's wrong, fix it. I don't know who moved it, but I don't have the game, so I can't check these things, I just fix the formatting. --TheRealLurlock Talk 09:09, 2 April 2007 (EDT)
Probably someone looking at the list from the Taxonomy of Obsession quest. There are a couple of ingredients on the list that don't exactly match the in-game name; Bone Marrow is one. It's called Shambles Marrow on the list. Red Kelp Gas Bladder is just called Gas Bladder on the list. There's at least one more. QuillanTalk 15:25, 2 April 2007 (EDT)
Fair enough. Fixed anyway --Silver 20:20, 2 April 2007 (EDT)
Bone Marrow has the ID "SEShamblesMarrow" in the construction set. I imagine somebody got confused. Rpeh 03:30, 17 June 2007 (EDT)

Strangeness[edit]

Unrefined Greenmote and Nirnroot can match, but nothing can produce Weakness to Fire on tier four of the Ashen Remains. Strangeness? 71.196.147.89 14:23, 2 April 2007 (EDT)

Not really. Until Shivering Isles came out, nothing could produce any of the effects on Nirnroot, and there's a couple other effects that couldn't be made into potions either. (In fact, since Unrefined Greenmote and Nirnroot only share two effects, they each still have two more that are unavailable.) Strange? A little maybe, but no more than it was before. --TheRealLurlock Talk 15:06, 2 April 2007 (EDT)
Why did you move Unrefined Greenmote to special? Or, rather, why just Unrefined Greenmote and not Black Tar? --Silver 05:51, 5 April 2007 (EDT)
I was looking at the Construction Set, and Unrefined Greenmote seemed to be an unusual one - mainly based on its editor name, and the fact that it seems to mainly be a related to a specific quest. (Also the fact that it is nearly useless for alchemy due to having effects not shared by any other ingredients except for a few on Nirnroot - another special ingredient.) If you feel Black Tar should be moved down as well, go ahead and do so. I haven't actually gotten a chance to play the game, I can only look at the CS. (Until I get a new video card.) --TheRealLurlock Talk 10:51, 5 April 2007 (EDT)
Oh, when you do play the game, you'll see that green mushrooms abound, and harvesting unrefined greenmote is as common and unspecial as harvesting fly amanita. And the unrefined version is related by name to the quest-related greenmote, but there's no way to refine it yourself, and no quest where you need the unrefined kind. And unlike Nirnroot, it grows back. I think once you play around on the Isles, you'll be wondering why it's listed under "special", too. But I'll leave it until you do rather than start an edit war. --207.171.180.101 14:27, 5 April 2007 (EDT)

Jyggalag's Favor[edit]

Does anyone know what Jyggalags Favor from the Hearts of Order actually does? — Unsigned comment by Sollinton (talkcontribs) at 16:45 on 30 June 2007

Heart of Order:
You can - differently to statements at this page - can make potions out of chokeberry and the heart of order (e.g.). Jyggalags Favor gives you a 20 points boost to strength and endurance, wears of pretty quick though (even though it is listed as for 1 second on self, weares of after approximatly 45 seconds). — Unsigned comment by 88.72.236.31 (talk) at 19:42 on 19 July 2007

Greenmote[edit]

When it says eating three samples of greenmote at once will kill, does this mean that you can eat two samples, close the inventory menu, then go back onto it and eat two more continuously? — Unsigned comment by Merco (talkcontribs) at 18:35 on 15 August 2007

I don't think so. When you get out of the menu, there is still the effects going on from eating said ingredient... and so eating the third would still get you killed!(Cookies... lots and lots of cookies!!! 20:24, 3 November 2009 (UTC))

Deformed Swamp Tentacle[edit]

I noticed the rare ingredient table has a part which looks like it's meant to be the section for a deformed swamp tentacle, but the code is broken. I dunno how to fix it, though. Could someone else do it? Legoless 13:48, 10 April 2010 (UTC)

Fixed. Thanks for pointing that out! rpeh •TCE 17:18, 10 April 2010 (UTC)
