Killing Dyus[edit]

is there any known way to kill/release him? — Unsigned comment by 69.108.231.202 (talk)

No — Unsigned comment by Darth NANAME (talkcontribs)
I've noticed that if you attack him after he creates the Incomplete Staff of Sheogorath for you, he'll chase you, even outside the dungeon. Thus, you can "release" him. Pickpocketing him after paralyzing him reveals no items, but he does remain immortal. If you yield to him he'll just stand there, and his dialog options remain the same as they were previously. He still talks about how his imprisonment is meaningless - guess so, if he could just walk out on a whim. 68.59.19.150 06:57, 21 July 2009 (UTC)

Illusory Staff[edit]

(moved from the article)

If you visit Dyus after completing the Main Quest he will most likely have an illusion of the Staff of Sheogorath in front of him, the illusion will most likely dissapear if you save and reload but if you leave the area then return to it will probably of re-appeared again.--VergilSparda 20:27, 15 September 2009 (UTC)

Doesn't happen for me. Has anybody else seen it or is it just a one-off? –rpehTCE 19:41, 4 August 2009 (UTC)

I think it happens if you try to talk to him or attack him while he is creating the staff--82.42.169.60 20:26, 15 September 2009 (UTC)

It happened to me, too, and I did not attack nor speaking with him during the construction of the Staff. 173.74.70.189 00:40, 14 November 2009 (UTC)
I came back after completing the main quest and the staff was there. It's the illusion of Sheogorath's staff, except the eye of Ciirta is glowing blue. 24.233.128.66 15:49, 23 December 2009 (UTC)
  • I've got one appearing in my game as well, with a blue glow where Ciirta's eye is on the normal staff. 96.253.119.151 02:59, 27 July 2010 (UTC)

Throne[edit]

It may not be worth noting, but I was going through the construction set when I noticed an object called "SEDyusThrone" which appears identical to the Throne of Dementia. Just thought it was worth noting. --81.109.191.157 18:25, 16 August 2009 (UTC)

Actually, it looks more like a throne from one of the castles of Tamriel. 24.233.128.66 15:50, 23 December 2009 (UTC)
It's actually the throne from Castle Kvatch, just with the Kvatch emblem removed. Legoless 13:54, 12 February 2011 (UTC)

The matrix[edit]

A lot of the diolog from dyus gives nodes to the matrix triligy, and shouldn't that be added to the page— Unsigned comment by 66.63.118.118 (talk) on 23 August 2009

I have never seen The Matrix. But feel free to add it if you think the similarities are huge. –Elliot talk 06:21, 24 August 2009 (UTC)

Voice Actor[edit]

Should it be noted that though an Imperial, he has a unique voice actor? The same one that plays Sheogorath, actually. Applepixie 06:01, 10 June 2011 (UTC)

We almost always include unique voice actors as far as I know (although I mainly work in the Lore namespace, not in the Gamespaces). Go ahead and add it. Unless anyone disagrees, it should be added.--Kalis AgeaYes? Contrib E-mail 06:05, 10 June 2011 (UTC)
EDIT: Sheogorath, Dyus, Lucien Lachance, and all Imperial NPCs are voiced by Wes Johnson. In other words, they are not unique.--Kalis AgeaYes? Contrib E-mail 06:14, 10 June 2011 (UTC)
Further research made me realize this myself. I didn't connect the Imperial's voice to Sheogorath's voice, and Dyus sounded like the Madgod to me. Apologies. Applepixie 07:11, 10 June 2011 (UTC)
No problem; I wouldn't have thought that Wes Johnson voiced Sheogorath. But, just as you did, I researched the subject and discovered otherwise. No need to apologize; it's actually a relatively common misconception that Sheogorath's voice actor is unique.--Kalis AgeaYes? Contrib E-mail 07:38, 10 June 2011 (UTC)
