Machine[edit]

Malifant's letter suggests that the machine he built will revive him again in a few days. Anyone know if this is true? 66.167.32.244 04:19, 3 September 2008 (EDT)

He doesn't respawn if that's what you mean. The letters are all about the crematorium and the traps in Ebrocca, not a machine to bring him back to life. –RpehTCE 04:33, 3 September 2008 (EDT)
He returned to life in my game. I've no idea if that was a unofficial-patch/mod at work though. — Unsigned comment by 86.137.215.230 (talk)
Old talk, but I was really surprised there is no mention of this in the article. He did return to life once in my game, seconds after I had looted his corpse, so I had to kill him twice. This note talks about the resurrection, I think. The stuff about it taking two days before the enchantment can be used again probably just refers to the time it takes for an NPC to respawn naturally (I haven't seen it happen myself, but the article lists him as respawning). Actually, it seems I was wrong two years ago. He does respawn, and the article already says so. rpeh •TCE 13:07, 1 August 2010 (UTC)
He also resurrects instantly after he is killed... After taking a look at the CS, I'm not sure if it happens every time or only the first time you kill him, though. It's controlled with a variable in his script, but I don't know how variables work in Oblivion. If the variable never resets to 0, then the resurrection only happens the very first time you kill him. Moved from main page[edit]

This NPC can only be truly killed through use of the Staff of Banishment, which can be located in the same area in his quarters. Shoot him wit the staff, then slay him.

Anybody know if this is true? It sounds unlikely. Volthawk 10:17, 19 December 2009 (UTC)

Well his chest can contain a staff 10% chance and i found the staff and he respawns i got lucky99.169.161.243 09:05, 12 July 2011 (UTC)

Inventory[edit]

The recently added inventory could use some information on his wardrobe as well. --Krusty 11:41, 22 December 2009 (UTC)

There you go. I've added his robe and that he can have a staff (which I missed earlier) Volthawk 12:22, 22 December 2009 (UTC)
Brilliant. Thanks! --Krusty 12:23, 22 December 2009 (UTC)

A few strange things[edit]

I had to kill him twice before I was able to gain access to his inventory (when I tried before I killed him the second time -- immediately after I had "killed him", momentarily before he resurrected -- I was seemingly hit by Shock damage, not unlike when attempting to loot a Priest of Order's body while an Obelisk is still active). When I finally did, I found around 30 Restore Health Potions, around 30 Restore Magicka Potions, and a (Daedric) dagger. This is seemingly contradictory to the information provided in the article ("...has a 75% chance of having a [single] Restore Health potion, an equal chance of having a Restore Magicka potion", "He wields a mace or war axe, which may be magical"). On a side note, I found a little humor in that he uses a Bound Dagger spell while he carries a Daedric dagger. 99.225.162.83 04:41, 10 March 2011 (UTC)

I'm playing on the Xbox 360 GOTY edition. I'm level 38. 99.225.162.83 04:44, 10 March 2011 (UTC)
I noticed the large quantity of healing potions too. He had about 32 Restore Health and 28 Restore Magicka potions for me. The article does currently state "Depending on your level, he may also carry a variable amount of Restore Health and Restore Magicka potions...", but it doesn't say how high that variable amount can go. It reminds me a little bit of the necromancers in Howling Cave near Skingrad, who carry more potions the higher your level is. I am level 36, and Ebrocca is just about the last major place I've explored in SI, after doing pretty much all of the base game and KotN. I am on PC, 1.2.0416, GOTY edition from retail disc, no mods. 73.3.58.200 10:20, 17 June 2021 (UTC)
