Luaki

Luaki is an Ynesai Priest residing within the hold of the TEM Kintyra's Shield. He has been providing services to the crew here in exchange for bed and board, but - with an eye on the future - will seek to enlist your help in ensuring future financial support from the Temple of Dibella Estetica.

He is very tied to the sea, and describes the motivations behind him joining the TEM Kintyra as being down to the Soulrest Uprising. As he puts it:

"It was a large tribal rebellion that happened in Soulrest not too long ago, and the reason why I volunteered as a priest on this ship. Although the rebellion was ultimately put down, I could see much trauma in the West Navy sailors who were deployed there to quash the uprising. Some of the crew on this ship had seen, maybe even committed, unspeakable violence while they were there. From that point on, I decided to help and spiritually support the crew any way I could in charity and service."

The Soulrest Uprising did not only inspire Luaki, but also gave rise to the Placid Drowner Cult - a group that worships Molag Bal through human sacrifice. When evidence comes to light of the Cult's presence in Anvil, Luaki will task you with eradicating it before it can do any further harm. You may choose instead to join it, in which case Luaki undergoes something of a spiritual crisis:

"You drowned someone, didn't you? How could you do this, %PCname? Is this how little the values of the Itinerant Priests mean to you? Or maybe I'm the one who got it all wrong. Maybe your deeds are as sacred as mine, in a twisted way. You certainly seem to have achieved more through them than I ever did."
