Full List

The motif list on this page seems like very useful information, but I didn't even know we had this. A listing of the sources of every motif drop seems like it would be far better off on a general page such as Online:Styles or Online:Crafting Motifs or even a new page. Hiding it away on a specific achievement page means it is less likely to be updated (and is currently already out of date). We can simply link to the list from this page and achieve the same effect. —⁠Legoless (talk) 09:41, 28 August 2020 (UTC)

I originally made the page like this because the info is directly related to the achievement, and it would make sense to readers who are going for the achievement and looking for a reference to where everything drops. I also deliberately split the sections up by DLC as there will be people who might not own certain DLCs and won't have access to them. It's also useful to just see what DLC introduced what motif.

Contrast that with ON:Styles - there is of course overlap, but the context of that page is a little different. It's not a "guide" page and when I overhauled it a while back, I made a conscious decision not to start listing every location drop because the page would become very busy and overwhelming. Particularly with how ON:Style is split up by category and includes non-motif styles.

I think it might be more appropriate to transclude this table to ON:Crafting Motifs, because it is also split by DLC and also people who google and hit the achievement page still get what they need without having to click elsewhere. Just need to remove the link "For a full list of exactly how to obtain every type of motif, see the True Style Master page.". --Jimeee (talk) 10:36, 28 August 2020 (UTC)

Honestly I think this list could entirely replace the one on ON:Crafting Motifs. At present it's really just a list of names not dissimilar to the ON:Styles article. I figure anyone navigating to the item page for Crafting Motifs probably wants to know how to find them. That page could then be easily transcluded here. —⁠Legoless (talk) 10:47, 28 August 2020 (UTC)
