The warrior Daljari Half-Troll oversees the Trial of the Body, a test of brawn over brain.

Quick Walkthrough[edit]

  1. Win four fights against the Brawlers.
  2. Talk to Daljari Half-Troll.
  3. Defeat a champion.
  4. Return to Daljari.

Detailed Walkthrough[edit]

As you approach, Daljari will grouse that "None of these idiots are guardian material." She will greet you curtly.

"Yeah?"
The Thane said you proctor the Trial of the Body?
"Want to get knocked about, eh? Lots of folk around looking for a brawl. Go pick a few.
Report back once you've knocked in some teeth."
Will do, Daljari.

This starts the quest proper. You need to win four fights. Speak to one of the nearby Brawlers and pick a fight with them. Defeating them does not grant experience. Once you've beaten four of them, return to Daljari.

"Word is, you've won a few fights. Good work."
I'm ready for the next challenge.
"The Thane's fest doesn't attract just drunken brawlers. Some real champions come to spar as well.
You want another challenge? Seek one out. Then we'll see what you're made of."

Seek out a named character with a quest marker over their heads. You can fight any of the following people:

  • Makoll God-Hater, an eviscerator: located across the street from Daljari (just east of her).
  • Maeri Giant-Slayer, a berserker: standing right next to Makoll God-Hater east of Daljari.
  • Olveidi, a chillfiend: standing on a ledge beside a red tent some ways east of Daljari (past Makoll and Maeri).
  • Votar Far-walker, a chillfiend: He's near the southern bridge, on the eastern side of Geirmund's Hall.
  • Saehon Magaudin, a thundermaul: located west of Votar, standing on a ledge across the water from Ivarstead. He's on the very eastern edge of Geirmund's Hall.
  • Gjoson, a berserker: located near the northeastern bridge on the eastern edge of Geirmund's Hall. He's standing next to a Brawler and writing on a clipboard.
  • Jalrana, a foot soldier: located located near the northeastern bridge on the eastern edge of Geirmund's Hall. She's looking upon the archers by the targets.

Defeat them, and return to Daljari. She's short and to the point with her message; you've passed the trial. She hands you some gold and assures you she'll inform Vofknir of your sucess.

"I can smell battle on you. Well-fought battle. You pass."
That's it?
"Yup. I'll let Vofknir know.
Good work."

Notes[edit]

  • Be sure to pick fights with Brawlers, and not any of the other non-hostile NPCs that can be attacked, such as Revelers. Not only will you not advance the quest, but you will also incur a bounty if you attack non-Brawlers.
  • Despite being one-on-one duels, the fights are handled by the game by temporarily marking the NPC as hostile. Therefore, any player can attack a hostile Brawler or named champion.

Notes
* Any text displayed in angle brackets (e.g., <Alias=LocationHold>) is dynamically set by the game and will be filled in with the appropriate word(s) when seen in game.
  • Not all Journal Entries may appear in your journal; which entries appear and which entries do not depends on the manner in which the quest is done.
  • Stages are not always in order of progress. This is usually the case with quests that have multiple possible outcomes or quests where certain tasks may be done in any order. Some stages may therefore repeat objectives seen in other stages.
