  3. Find Erranza's remains.
  4. Bury the remains outside the prison.

Detailed Walkthrough[edit]

While inspecting the prison, you meet the spirit of an old Khajiit. She requests your help in finding the remains of her family so that they can be buried together in a better place :

"Even in death, I feel trapped here. Part of my soul is tied to this prison."
What can I do to help you?
"The Imperials brought my family here after they killed my husband. My children, Nuzal and Zarukhari, are somewhere in the dungeons.
I need them with me before I can pass on."
Where can I find them?
"They're dead, too … somewhere in here. The Imperials took them away from me.
Please bury us beneath the tree just outside the cave entrance to the prison. Inter us in the open air, away from this dank place."
I'll take care of it.
"Find them. Find their ashes. I'll never find peace until we're together once more."

Zarukhari's Remains are located beneath the stairwell in the northern chamber. Nuzal's Remains are located in the first cell to the right in the hallway west of that room. Erranza's Remains can be found by going through the tunnel south of the hallway. They're in the third northern cell over in the last hallway.

When you recover the remains of Zarukhari, she'll share some of her memories :

Erranza: "Her father made that doll from an old shirt. It always smelled like him."

After finding Nuzal's bones and burnt bracelet, she'll carry on :

Erranza: "Mara bless him, I made that bracelet for Nuzal."
Erranza: "My poor children and I deserve a better resting place."

Finally, when you discover her own remains, she'll sigh :

Erranza: "They put me so far from my children."

You've to go outside to find the tree she wishes to be buried under. It is located at the northwestern corner of White Rose Prison, near the cave entrance. You can once again speak to her after the deed is done and she'll finally have found peace :

"Together, finally. S'rendarr answered my prayers."
Are you at peace?
"I am. This was our favorite place in the prison. We'd meet in secret, dreaming of escape and our life beyond these walls.
Once the guards found us and punished me severely, but those fleeting moments of peace were worth every lash."

She'll hand you Zarukhair's Band along with her deepest thanks.

* Any text displayed in angle brackets (e.g., <Alias=LocationHold>) is dynamically set by the game and will be filled in with the appropriate word(s) when seen in game.
  • Not all Journal Entries may appear in your journal; which entries appear and which entries do not depends on the manner in which the quest is done.
  • Stages are not always in order of progress. This is usually the case with quests that have multiple possible outcomes or quests where certain tasks may be done in any order. Some stages may therefore repeat objectives seen in other stages.
