Salvaged Plans[edit]

Approach him and he'll say:

Bakh: "I hate running."

Speaking to him:

"What do you want? And better yet, what are you doing all the way out here?
If you don't mind, I'm actually running for my life at the moment. So, if you could let me get back to that, I'd appreciate it."
I was actually sent to track you down.
"What? That Dremora actually asked for help? Bah, I'll never understand the Grasp.
All right, before you do anything hasty, at least let me explain. This is a big misunderstanding. Or, I guess it's not, but we've got a good reason, I swear!"
I'm listening.
"Hold on, it's not safe here. Please, find my two friends and send them to the portal to Fargrave. It's where we planned to meet if we got separated.
Once we're together, I'll tell you the whole story. You can decide what to do with us from there."
Fine, I'll find your friends and meet you at the portal to Fargrave.
"Many thanks. Their names are Elisa and Minwileth. We all split up once we got here but they shouldn't be far.
I'll head to the portal now. I promise I'll explain everything once those two are safe."

Bakh will head east to the Portal to Fargrave.

Once you've found Elisa and Minwileth, you can go to the area near the portal and find Bakh and Elisa:

Bakh: "I'm sorry, Elisa. I should have been more careful."
Elisa Velain: "Don't. This is my fault. If it wasn't for me, we wouldn't be in this mess."

Speaking to him:

"I won't lie, I thought you'd turn right back around to Fargrave and give us up to the Grasp. Thanks for coming to hear us out.
I'm glad Elisa is here but … what about Minwileth? Did you find her?"
She didn't make it.
"Damn. I feared as much.
I should have been more careful. The three of us have been stealing things since we were young and we always managed to come out on the other side just fine. But I was just so scared for Elisa, I wasn't thinking straight."
You stole the Redmaiden to save Elisa, right?
"Exactly. Then, we ran here to escape punishment, but punishment is all we found in this wasteland.
If we stay out here, we'll end up like Minwileth. But if we go back, it's whatever the Grasp considers justice. And for Elisa, the Drain."
So, which is it going to be?
"I guess that's up to you, isn't it? You hold our fate in your hands. You were decent enough to hear us out, so we'll comply with whatever you decide.
Besides, it's my decisions that got us all into this mess. I shouldn't be making any more."
Turn yourselves in. You may serve a sentence, but you'll be safe.

Stay on the run. You'll be free and can help Elisa as you see fit.

I need to think about this some more.

Turn them in[edit]

If Bakh and Elisa are turned in

If you convince them to turn themselves in, you'll hear:

Elisa Velain: "Are you sure about this, Bakh? Are we really going to turn ourselves over to the Grasp?"
Bakh: "The only thing I'm sure of is that if we stay, we'll end up like Minwileth. Come on, let's go."

Back in Fargrave:

Bakh: "We came back voluntarily. Did you have to tie these bindings so tight?"
Grasp-Kyn Zyr: "I did, mortal. The Stricture is quite clear on this subject."

If you didn't give Elisa the Redmaiden:

"I've never known the Grasp to be lenient, but if there's any justice, they'll acknowledge we turned ourselves in and get Elisa the Redmaiden she needs. She's looking worse by the minute."

If you gave Elisa the Redmaiden:

"The Grasp-Kyn seems happy that we turned ourselves in at least.
Elisa told me you gave her the Redmaiden. There's no way I can possibly thank you. She already looks better. I'll do whatever it takes to make sure she stays that way … free or not."

Stay on the run[edit]

If you chose to let them go:

Bakh: "Bakh, are you sure? What if I get worse?"
Elisa Velain: "We'll be able to find a way to get you more Redmaiden if we're free. Come on. Thank you, friend!"
<The pair then will walk down the road and disappear.>

After the quest, if you let him and Elisa escape, he will be in Wretched Spire with his friend:

If you gave Elisa the Redmaiden:

"Friend! Elisa told me what you did, how you gave her the Redmaiden. I don't know if I can ever repay you.
We're going to lay low here for a time, then see if we can sneak back into Fargrave. From there, we'll make our way into Nirn and start over."

If you didn't give Elisa the Redmaiden:

Hope Springs Eternal[edit]

Elisa and Bakh in Castle Leyawiin

If you have helped Bakh previously, join the celebration at Leyawiin Castle and he will be there:

"This almost feels like Fargrave. I've never seen Nirn so full of Daedra."

If you gave Elisa the Redmaiden, he'll expand to say:

"When you helped us in the Sever, I had no idea you'd go on to save all of Nirn too. We're grateful you took the time to pull our sorry hides out of trouble.
Elisa's feeling better. We might stay here for a bit to visit Minwileth's family though."
