Mod Added NPC?[edit]

Why is there a bloke with a custom voice called Middas Silverblade standing in my Chestnut Handy Stables? Does he come from a mod or something, because I've never seen him before in my life... — Unsigned comment by 87.127.79.8 (talk)

I'm guessing he must be from an unofficial mod you've installed, because there's nobody by that name in the vanilla version of the game. --NepheleTalk 12:55, 26 May 2007 (EDT)

Esential[edit]

I believe Snak is always essential. Anyone ever been able to kill her? --GuildKnight (Talk) contribs 18:13, 9 October 2007 (EDT)

Given her lack of involvement in any quests (barring Horse Armor), I'm inclined to agree. Generally, people only lose their essential status upon completion of a quest involving them, and she doesn't have anything like that. --TheRealLurlock Talk 18:26, 9 October 2007 (EDT)

She's always essential, I added the information to her page. --Aldage 13:03, 13 October 2007 (EDT)

Question on Name[edit]

In the official guide, it says that if you say her name really fast, it's supposed to sound like something (or so I gathered). Does anyone know what it's supposed to be? I got "snack" out of her first name, not that it was too hard (Snak -> snack). Can anyone finish it or is that all it's supposed to be? --Adoring Fan 22:42, 27 March 2008 (EDT)

My guess: "Snack Grabber" —Dark Spark 02:25, 28 March 2008 (EDT)
Excellent thinking Dark Spark! I think that is very likely what it's supposed to be. Nice one! --Adoring Fan 21:41, 28 March 2008 (EDT)

Horse eating[edit]

Has anyone else noticed the mistake on the dialog for Imperial City? The beginning of her text says "Add some onion and... wait.", but she doesn't actually say this. Any idea why the voice part of this was removed? Or was it just never recorded? 216.104.125.223 18:45, 17 August 2010 (UTC) (Paril)

Chestnuts Roasting?[edit]

So, there's no quests involving Snak or the Chestnut Handy stables, and the missing horses therein? Is the whole "nudge and a wink" hinting at her eating the horses a reference to something in popular culture? The only thing I could think of would be a minor character in Vertigo's Preacher series. It was a French chef who stole horses for obvious reasons. Predcon 22:48, 7 March 2011 (UTC)

They're all part of an unfinished quest. You can even find some wild horses around the coast of Lake Rumare somewhere. Snak is the "excuse". She's there so that they can cover up the quest by saying a hungry orc ate them all and that's the end of it. Legoless 23:39, 7 March 2011 (UTC)
'K. *sigh* I think it should be a rule that all unfinished quests, everywhere and for all time, should at least have the words "Red Herring", in some shape or fashion, attached to them. Even if it's in another language, like "Poisson Rouge". At least then the player would have more than an inkling that they need not obsess about it anymore. Predcon 01:38, 8 March 2011 (UTC)
