One of the Only?[edit]

Is she one of the few or the only one who knows about the passageway? --WerdnanoslenTalk 19:01, 12 January 2007 (EST)

Presumably the countess also knows about it :) But Hlidara's probably the only person who's willing to tell you about it. --Nephele 22:57, 12 January 2007 (EST)
I just re-read the quest guide, and it cleared it up. --WerdnanoslenTalk 23:05, 12 January 2007 (EST)

Killed by the Guards?[edit]

In the process of completing Sanguine's Daedric Quest, right after I cast Stark Reality, a group of guards rushed in and killed Hlidara. I had dropped a set of Chameleon items so that I could hide after casting the spell, and so I was able to watch the whole thing happen. They came in and killed her (rather quickly) and then all rushed back out as a group. odd much? --Nirvelli 22:13, 24 July 2007 (EDT)

Just another example of the AI running amok. These things happen. --RpehTalk 06:07, 25 July 2007 (EDT)

Inn of Ill Omen?[edit]

Okay, this is weird, I saw the Leyawiin Countess' Bodyguard on a horse nearby Faregyl Inn and the Inn of Ill Omen, not much longer after this I encountered Hlidara Mothril too, also on a horse, nearby here. Any idea how, and why, this would happen? 90.198.134.222

Because: Alessia Caro Travels to Chorrol Every month or week because Chorrol's Countess is Alessia's Mother. Her Bodyguard and Hlidara have near enough she same routine as Alessia, so they will go to Chorrol if Alessia dies aswell.--VergilSparda 21:49, 16 December 2009 (UTC)

Murdered by the servants?[edit]

Well after completing the quests related to Castle Leyawiin, I decided to go sneaking around the castle to steal some stuff. Oddly enough, when I entered the castle's servant quarters, I found Hlidara's corpse at the top of the stairs. Was this an example of the game's AI doing something strange or was she somehow attacked by castle staff? Either way it seems like some sort of bug. And speaking of bugs, Hlidara also referred to my male Bosmer character as female when I approached her in Leyawiin. She wasn't referring to the Countess like she sometimes does after you finish talking with her (I unfortunately don't remember exactly what she said other than something about her being "pleased to see milady" or something like that). Not sure if it means anything, but I'm playing the PS3 GotY edition.96.253.119.151 02:48, 13 June 2010 (UTC)

It is probably an AI bug. She (or the other person) might have taken something that was identified as "owned" and a fight consequentially began. This is probably the most common explanation for mysterious NPC deaths. Vesna 02:52, 13 June 2010 (UTC)
ok when i went to do this.. i found Hlidara dead in a field.. why is she dead? BizarreMike 12:41, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
When the Countess travels to Chorrol once a month, Hlidara will follow her - so it is quite common for her to be killed by bandits or wildlife during the trip. --Krusty 19:08, 25 July 2010 (UTC)

Quest Issue[edit]

I have started Thieves Guild quest Ahdarji's Heirloom but Hlidara Mothril is dead,, killed by some thug nearby pells gate when i try´d to save her some ours a go i did not know that she was a key to my mission and i have no chances to load the game once more what 2 do now(87.55.6.145 09:13, 16 May 2011 (UTC))

As it says on the quest page: Hlidara Mothril can be killed by the time you begin to pursue this quest. The good news is that her body has the keys to the castle, and the countess will give you enough of a hint to know that she does not wear the ring when she is sleeping. That's really all you will need to complete the quest, but you will miss out on hearing about the torture chamber and secret passage. --DKong27 Talk Cont 15:12, 16 May 2011 (UTC)

Bug(?) with behaviour during Sanguine quest[edit]

"Hlidara was supposed to wander around in her Private Quarters during the Sanguine quest, but her Accompany package takes precedence, which causes her to stand next to Alessia during the dinner party and only return to her Quarters to sleep. She will keep doing this until you cast the Stark Reality spell since the quest-specific package tells her not to eat until you reach stage 30 of the quest."

I've scoured her AI including looking for unassigned packages that would be assigned via AddScriptPackage and I can't find anything other than her sleep package, which is at a fixed 0x6 time all days she's in Leyawiin, that takes place in the Private Quarters. I believe that this entry was the result of a misinterpretation of the Private Quarters entry in her accompany package(s), but they only mean: follow that AlessiaCaroRef that is initially found in the cell Private Quarters, not to stay in that cell. So she appears to be supposed to remain with the Countess during Stark Reality. Kivan 00:04, 11 September 2011 (UTC)
