Can this cave be explored before starting the quest? --Neekerisanni123 08:29, 3 April 2009 (EDT)

Yes. Instead of the quest-specific vampires, you get standard ones. –RpehTCE 04:09, 5 April 2009 (EDT)

Ok,thanks! --Neekerisanni123 05:01, 5 April 2009 (EDT)

Non-agressive vampire[edit]

When I did the quest, one of the vampires wasnt agressive. She was a redguard, and I could talk to her about rumors. Her name was like the others 'bloodcrust vampire'. I led some of the others to her, but they ignored her as she ignored them. They just went on attacking me. I could rest near her, no 'you cannot wait while enemies are nearby' Any ideas on what may have caused this?

sounds like you have mods or a really high persanallity--GUM!!! 01:39, 31 May 2010 (UTC)

No, I play vanilla on xbox. My personality is 70, but still it was odd. Couldnt have been racial bonus, Im an Altmer. I spared her as I tend to try and spare anyone thats peaceful, but after I left the cave I realised I hadnt gotten a quest update. When I re-entered the cave she was hostile.

I have the same situation, playing on PC (no mods) as a Dunmer currently with a personality of 62. ComaDivine 10:04, 3 August 2010 (UTC)

lure a guard into the cave[edit]

with the grey fox mask you can shoot a imperial guard on a horse with flare, run to the entrance on the cave and the guard will meet you there. resist arrest then open the door. once inside the cave take off the mask and run into the cave. yield to the guard but make sure one of the vampires notice him... he will put up a good fight luring them all to one spot and even taking a couple of them out before he dies.
