Redundant Info[edit]

Should this really be here? I mean, most of this is already covered on Rohssan's page. This is just repeating info with a different title. -- Vesna 00:09, July 1 2007

True, but having the page means it can be expanded. You can never have too much information! --RpehTalk 01:55, 1 July 2007 (EDT)
There was a very long discussion about this general question a while back at Oblivion Talk:The Bloated Float Inn which never really was resolved. In the end I advocated for having separate pages for places and NPCs just because there wasn't really any alternative that could be adopted with complete consistency.
But in the next round of redirect creation I'm thinking of creating redirect pages for any buildings that do not yet have articles, just to eliminate any red links and make it easier for people to find any relevant information on the topic that does already exist. The redirects won't necessarily be the final form of those pages; if at some later point editors want to expand any of those building pages they can just replace the redirect with a real article. --NepheleTalk 14:22, 1 July 2007 (EDT)
Should I start working on it? I want to help out but I'm not good at anything (yet). I tried getting the keys page done, but then figured it was useless because most keys have names and I can't get CS even though I'm on PC (I think). --Vesna 15:05, 1 July 2007
Creating large numbers of redirects is something that's pretty easy for my bot to do, and the bot can also add categories and other little details to the redirects.
If you're on PC you should be able to get the CS... just go to elderscrolls.com, under downloads, then tools I believe. Or there are some tasks at the Task List that don't require the CS, for example, adding NPCs from mods to pages like Oblivion:Trainers. If you want more info on any of the tasks, feel free to ask :) --NepheleTalk 16:10, 1 July 2007 (EDT)
What about info about the building such as here you could mention that Rohssan has a dog, and that it will attack on sight? Or that the Best Defence has a trapdoor to the Market Sewers? Or even more detailed like inside Mystic Emporium there hang tapestries of the mages guild symbol and one of the constelation The Lord? That is kinda interesting...sorta...And my dad has qualms about downloading anything off of the internet. And I mean I want to start creating the pages. (I don't know how to make redirects anyways) --Vesna 17:15, 1 July 2007
Creating the pages for the inns has been on my mental list of things to do for a while. Since far too much of my real life is spent in various London taverns, it seemed appropriate that I get these done. I've got a set of screenshots ready to roll and just need to sit down and get on with it (rather than doing maps, which is taking all my time at the moment!). Could you hold the bot at bay for at least a couple of days, please? --RpehTalk 05:40, 2 July 2007 (EDT)
Sorry, I'm not quite sure why you're asking me to delay creating the redirects...? The redirects aren't intended to be a permanent solution, they're just to make the need to create any corresponding pages less urgent. When you have time to fill in the real version of the page, you just edit the page and fill in the information that you want to add. The only difference from what you would do right now is that you would be editing an existing page instead of creating a new one.
In the meantime, it seems like having a redirect just makes it easier for editors and readers. If someone does a search on "The Main Ingredient" right now, for example, they just get a list of completely unrelated results. If a redirect page existed for "The Main Ingredient" the reader would end up at Ogier Georick's page which at the moment contains the most complete information on The Main Ingredient. I think until it's possible to spend the time creating a page at "The Main Ingredient" that contains more information than Ogier Georick's page, a redirect is much more useful for readers than a stub (which would basically just tell the reader they have to pull up yet another page to really the get information they're looking for).
Personally, I don't see any negatives from creating the redirects... am I missing something? --NepheleTalk 03:19, 3 July 2007 (EDT)

Opening Hours[edit]

In my experience, I have never found this shop to be open at 8am. It's one of only a few which seems to open at 9am instead. — Unsigned comment by 87.127.79.8 (talk)

This has come up before. Stores only open when their owners are in the right place to open the store and if you're hanging around nearby it can take a while for them to finish whatever else they were doing and get into position. Rohssan is definitely scripted to open the store from 8am to 8pm and it's just chance that you haven't seen her open the store then. –RpehTCE 02:14, 19 July 2008 (EDT)

Unnamed sword[edit]

I have found something that I do believe needs checking. On a site known as Gamewinners.com I found the Oblivion game info. It mentions a glitch called Unnamed sword located on top of the store "A Fighting Chance".

That is the direct link to it, please verify.
