Disappear[edit]

It says the Skeleton Key has 50 uses. After using it 50 times, will the key disappear? — Unsigned comment by 88.222.53.221 (talk) on 3 May 2009

Strategy guide[edit]

The Morrowind Prophecies strategy guide mentions that there are four skeleton keys. In the freeform section under Tel Fry it says "Gentleman Jim Stacey gives you one of these open-anything keys after you complete your final Thieves Guild quest, but you can find four of them on dead bodies at any time. They're in the Redoran and Hlaalu Underworks, the undead dungeon Hanud, and on the upper-level keep in the stronghold Berandas." The UESP articles don't mention anything about these... so I'm assuming it's just wrong. Bethesda must've planned on having more than one at one point. -- 67.168.145.128 08:44, 4 June 2013 (GMT)

Usually we have notes on these discrepancies to avoid confusion. The guides are written based on pre-release builds of the game and aren't always true to the final game. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 08:58, 4 June 2013 (GMT)
There are zero skeleton keys in the game from the start. One is added via the thieves guild questline, and that seems to be it. Jeancey (talk) 17:24, 4 June 2013 (GMT)
