Background info[edit]

Where does the info about Ranis' background come from? Is there some in-game material to back it up or is it just made up? -Meisterdieb 17:54, 27 January 2009 (EST)

Ask Llathyno Hlaalu at the Balmora Temple about "Latest rumors", and she gives the following little tidbit:
Ranis Athrys in the Balmora Mages Guild has something against wizards who aren't in the guild. I think it has something to do with her parents, who were murdered by the old Telvanni Archmagister, the one before Gothren.
She's the only person who will talk about it, so it's not very well-known. --TheRealLurlock Talk 23:48, 27 January 2009 (EST)
Heh, at least now I don't feel so bad about never having seen it since the info is so well "hidden". -Meisterdieb 09:12, 28 January 2009 (EST)

Spells[edit]

While cleaning up the spells Ranis knows, I noticed that they were the exact same ones that she sells. Is this correct? Because as I recall, the spells NPCs know and the ones they sell tend to differ, so this seems a little fishy to me... *WoahBro►talk 19:48, 9 June 2013 (GMT)

Field of Expertise[edit]

Would like to add to article that it seems that Ranis's research focuses on oblivion streams. The evidence for this is seen in two quests and I believe justifies why she is okay with you killing Itermerel and Manwe as they are both researching the same thing. She is also intent on getting his notes no matter what. Of course Manwe could also be justified as similar to other quests where she has you kill non guild mages as by failing to provide guild dues, Manwe could be considered no longer in the guild. However, there is no other reason for her to suggest killing Itermerel. Lazy Waysef (talk) 12:51, 3 November 2014 (GMT)

We don't include original research or speculations in the wiki, so we would need some in-game evidence stating what exactly she's researching for it to be added to the article. -- SarthesArai Talk 17:07, 3 November 2014 (GMT)
