Zabamund

Zabamund is the Gulakhan of the Urshilaku Ashlander tribe. He can be found at his yurt in their camp in the northern Ashlands. It is suggested that you to speak with him before you speak with Sul-Matuul. A well-placed bribe will go a long way towards gaining his favor.

Zabamund is wearing a near full set of Chitin armor including the cuirass, both gauntlets, boots, greaves and a chitin tower shield. He is also carrying a chitin war axe. Aside from his natural resistance to fire and the sanctuary provided by his ancestors, he knows no spells.

Related Quests[edit]

Main Quest[edit]

  • Meet Sul-Matuul: Travel to the northern coast to find out more about the Nerevarine Prophecies and how it relates to you.

Dialogue[edit]

  • Nerevarine prophecies:
    • "The Nerevarine Prophecies are not for outlanders. Why should Sul-Matuul and Nibani Maesa speak to you about these things? Who are you, that we should trust you?"
      • Offer to fight a duel to the death for the right to speak to Sul-Matuul "You are not an unworthy opponent. I hear honor in your words, and courage in your heart. I would regret killing you. But regret even more should you kill me. Very well. Perhaps Sul-Matuul will be angry with me. But I think I can bear that. Go to the Ashkhan's Yurt and speak with Sul-Matuul. Ask him your questions, and tell him I have sent you."
      • Boast of my worthy deeds, and demand the right to speak to Sul-Matuul "These are indeed worthy deeds. I hear the truth in your words. Perhaps Sul-Matuul will be angry with me. But I think I can bear that. Go to the Ashkhan's Yurt and speak with Sul-Matuul. Ask him your questions, and tell him I have sent you."
      • Tell all I have learned of the Sixth House and the Nerevarine, and ask humbly to speak to Sul-Matuul
        • [Speechcraft < 30.] "All of that may be true, and I'm sure you think it is very important, but it has nothing to do with us -- at least, not the way you tell it. I'm sorry, but I will not let you bother Sul-Matuul or Nibani Maesa with all this."
        • [Speechcraft ≥ 30.] "Hmm. These are not simple matters. You know a great deal more than I would have thought. And some of what you say is news to me. I believe you should speak to Sul-Matuul. Perhaps he will be angry with me. But I think I can bear that. Go to the Ashkhan's Yurt and speak with Sul-Matuul. Ask him your questions, and tell him I have sent you."
      • Offer to pay a tribute of 200 gold to speak with Sul-Matuul
        • "Hah. Perhaps if you HAD 200 good coins, then perhaps it would be a worthy tribute. But you do not. As it is, you shall not speak to Sul-Matuul or Nibani Maesa."
        • [200 Gold has been removed from your inventory.] "Yes, a gift of 200 gold coins. That is an earnest proof of your respect. Yes, I believe you should speak to our ashkhan. Perhaps he will be angry with me. But I think I can bear that. Go to the Ashkhan's Yurt and speak with Sul-Matuul. Ask him your questions, and tell him I have sent you."
    • "Go to Sul-Matuul's yurt. Tell him that Zabamund has sent you to speak to him."
  • Talk:
    • "Perhaps it is not your fault. But your talk does not interest me."
    • [Disposition < 70.] "Sul-Matuul will not talk to you. Nibani Maesa will not talk to you. You have no standing among us, outlander."
    • [Disposition ≥ 70.] "You have no standing among us, outlander. But you speak well, and with respect. So I will explain. It is against our customs that an outlander should speak to an ashkhan or wise woman. I'll tell you, also, that Sul-Matuul has no love for outlanders."
  • thoughtful gift: "It is our custom. Among strangers, we honor this custom with gold."
