Thoronor

Thoronor is a Wood Elf savant who is studying the flora and fauna of the Ascadian Isles with his colleague, Edras Oril. Unfortunately, while conducting their studies near the Fields of Kummu, the two have become separated by two mating Kagouti and need your help.

Thoronor wears an extravagant shirt with common pants and expensive shoes, along with an amulet of slowfalling. He carries up to 40 gold. Aside from his natural resistance to disease and the ability to command animals, he knows no spells.

Quest-Related Events[edit]

You can find Thoronor standing near the side of the road that runs from Pelagiad to Suran. If you speak with him without first having spoken to his friend, who has gone missing, he will ask your assistance in finding him:

  • "Hello! Please, might you be of some assistance? My friend is lost, and I'm very worried about him."
  • my friend
  • "Yes, my friend Edras Oril and I were traveling to Vivec, and he heard a strange animal sound nearby. He's sort of an amateur naturalist, and he felt compelled to seek out what was making the noises. That was hours ago, and I'm afraid something terrible has happened to him. If you could find him, and bring him back safely, I'd really appreciate it. I'd go myself, but I'm really more of a scholar, as is he. That's why we were traveling together--a little safety in numbers, you know. Can you help?"
  • I'll try and find your friend.
  • "Thank you! Oh, thank you. Truly, I fear for his life."
  • I've got no time for that now.
  • "No? Well, I'm sure you're a very busy person. He'll be fine, no doubt...as will I. I mean, I'm sure I'll be able to find him. Or he'll make his way back here. Oh, dear...I fear I'll never see him again! Well, thank you for your time. Don't worry about me...."

If you decided to help him out and ask him again about his missing friend, he mostly reiterates that which he said before:

  • my friend
  • "My friend, Edras Oril, is missing, and I fear he's in trouble. He has such a tendency to wander off. He's quite the scholar, but not quite as worldly-wise as I am."

If you manage to bring Edras safely back to him, he will thank you for your help and give you an enchanted amulet as token of his appreciation:

  • "Ah...you've found my friend Edras! Wonderful!"
  • my friend
  • [Amulet of Slowfalling has been added to your inventory] "Thank you so much. I can't tell you how much this means to me. I'm afraid I don't have much to give you as a reward, but this amulet may help you in your travels. It's helped the two of us out on a number of occasions. Take care!"

If Edras Oril dies, Thoronor will be disappointed but will nevertheless give you a book to compensate you for your efforts:

  • "I really must find my friend Edras."
  • my friend
  • [2920, Second Seed has been added to your inventory] "What? Edras didn't make it? Oh, my. I, I...I don't know what to say. He did love the outdoors, though, and it seems only fitting that he meet his end here. Such a kind, gentle soul to meet such a bitter end. I'll miss my friend greatly. Well, %PCName, I thank you for your time, even if it turned out so poorly. Please, take this. It was...Edras'. I must go now...it just seems pointless to continue my journey without my dear friend. Goodbye."

Notes[edit]

  • Thoronor is infected with Greenspore disease.
  • Even though Thoronor says that he and Edras were traveling together when they got separated, they don't resume their journey after you have reunited them. Instead, they remain at the same spot indefinitely.
