Inaccuracies/Inconsistencies[edit]

Why does this page exist in its current form? The term "vestige" is never used to refer to a creature that's had its soul replaced. The vestige is the thing given to mortals in place of their soul. The primary reference for this article, Chaotic Creatia: The Azure Plasm, explains this, and never once refers to mortals who've been changed in this manner as "vestiges"; only the thing that replaces their souls is described as such. In Lore:Chamberlain Haskill Answers Your Questions, Haskill refers to himself as a "Vestige", but his definition doesn't align with the information on this page, and is more in tune with the definition of the English word "vestige". The definition in question is as follows: "a trace of something that is disappearing or no longer exists." This falls in line with how Haskill explains the word "Vestige", when he refers to himself as a remnant of his former self: "I am a Vestige, all that remains of a mortal from your world who 'mantled' Sheogorath during an event in a previous time." I think this page should be deleted and replaced with a page explaining the concept of the vestige. The contents of this page can go in a section detailing vestiges as they are applied to mortals. Why are you denigrating Chamberlain Haskill Answers Your Questions as a source? This is not a case of typical English language usage, we are literally given the definition of a Vestige which lines up perfectly with what we know of Soul Shriven. I am completely opposed to this proposed deletion when it's grounded in such a convoluted reinterpretation of the source material. See the Lore:Vestige disambig page for a better understanding of how this term is used in various different contexts; "a Daedric soul" and "ESO player character" are only two of three definitions.
If your argument is really based on this strange view of Haskill's handy definition, try Daedra Dossier: The Titans: "He ordered the skeleton taken to the Vile Laboratory, where it was infused with the blood-of-darkness that reawakened it as a Vestige." This page needs to exist as the use of the term Vestige in the context of beings-once-mortal-now-Daedric is indisputable. —Legoless (talk)
