- Hrothgar was a legendary king of the Danes in the early 6th century. In the epic Beowulf he is the ruler of Denmark and the builder of the great hall of Heorot. — Unsigned comment by 184.59.231.111 (talk) at 05:49 on 11 December 2010
Skyrim[edit]
Worth noting it gets mentioned "For High Hrothgar's blood" (something seems to happen to it) in the trailer, as part of someone's battlecry, during the chanting. --67.8.22.167 21:50, 24 December 2010 (UTC)
- That's one of several interpretations of those lyrics. For the moment it's all speculation, and that should be kept to the forums. rpeh •T•C•E• 22:57, 24 December 2010 (UTC)
-
- If anyone's interested I've listened to it many times and heard this:
-
- "For the King!
-
- For the King!
-
- For the sake of Skyrim!
-
- For our lives!
-
- For our homes!
-
- For the High Hrothgar's blood!
-
- For the Nords and the Gods!"
-
- For the Sole-Single Son!
-
- Dovahkiin, our king, will da-awn in FIRE!" --Para01 04:06, 18 January 2011 (UTC)
Balgruuf[edit]
Did he go INTO High Hrothgar? I only remember him saying he made the pilgrimage up the 7000 steps once, like Karita and that other guy. Not that he went in. Vicano (talk) 21:10, 4 August 2013 (GMT)
- The dialogue is absent from CSList for some reason. But his relevant dialogue is "There's no refusing the summons of the Greybeards; it's a tremendous honor. I envy you, you know. To climb the 7,000 Steps again … I made the pilgrimage once, did you know that?" So, it seems like we may have made a bad assumption here, unless there's something I'm missing. Just because he made the pilgrimage doesn't mean he ever tried to enter or train with them. Minor EditsThreats•Evidence 21:30, 4 August 2013 (GMT)
