Lore talk:Andorak Septim
Edit War[edit]
It has come to my attention that there's been some back and forth regarding whether or not Andorak's heirs are still in power by the Fourth Era.
I believe the notion comes from Skyrim's version of Brief History of the Empire, v3, from the following line:
"In an act that the Sage Eraintine called "Tiber Septim's heart beating no more," the Council granted Andorak the High Rock kingdom of Shornhelm to end the war, and Andorak's descendants still rule there."
I must note that this same line is present in Morrowind and Oblivion's versions of the book. Brief History was written in the Third Era. We have no way of knowing whether or not the in-universe publisher has revised the series and re-released it with new details, so I am under the impression that it is unknown whether or not Andorak's heirs still rule.
I encourage interested parties to contribute their thoughts to this discussion so the back-and forth reverts and re-additions may cease. -MolagBallet (talk) 18:24, 28 August 2021 (UTC)
- I saw that going on, and what I decided to do was add in a note, as of course, the idea that Septims aka dragonborns survived, contradicts the whole point of Martin being the only hope for the Empire. Plus we also know that there were many many changes to High Rock itself, and we don't even know if the kingdom of Shormhelm was spared from the Warp in the West. Or if the Septim Bloodline that ruled over Shornhelm was spared or even lived through it. So what I did was added in a note, and hopefully that addresses the issue.TheVampKnight (talk) 06:59, 29 August 2021 (UTC)
