Mighty Mordra, also known as Mordra the Mighty,[1] was an Orc fighter, and a founding member of the Undaunted, along with Turuk Redclaws and Kailstig the Axe. The Undaunted were a group of brave and boisterous adventurers who were active during the Second Era.[2]

Some members of the Undaunted found Mordra's demeanor abrasive, but her directness and lack of patience could be attributed to her determination to seek out promising individuals.[3] She required members to prove themselves through dangerous pledges.[4][5]

History[edit]

Aetherian Archive

Little is known of Mordra's past. During her travels as a daring adventurer, Mordra crossed paths with Turuk Redclaws and became one of his comrades. She was one of the few who could keep up with Turuk's fearless approach to taking on the most challenging tasks. Together with Kailstig the Axe, they dared each other to seemingly insane challenges such as the naked dungeon run. They soon became very knowledgeable about many dangerous places. Eventually, they established a guild of like-minded adventurers called the Undaunted.[2]

Mordra was responsible for testing those who wished to join the guild by assigning them perilous tasks to complete. After successfully completing the tasks, she would personally welcome the new members with a song and a toast. This song was an important tradition within the guild, serving as a sort of initiation rite.[6] She shared this duty with other founding members, Kailstig and Turuk.[7]

In 2E 582, when the Constellations fell from the sky in Craglorn, the Aetherian Archive, an ancient Nedic building was unsealed. The Undaunted, led by Mordra were then quickly made aware of the opening of the Archive, and flocked to the tower in an attempt to be the first to scale it.[6][8] The Undaunted ascended the tower and fought through the Mage's guardians before defeating the Celestial herself in battle. Freed from the Serpent's influence, the Mage departed the Archive to help the Thief contain the Serpent's growing influence.[8]

Lost members of the expedition to the City of Ash and the Deadlands entrusted their note to be delivered to Mordra in case of their demise, so that she would know they passed away as they lived.[9] They were rescued, however, by another group of the Undaunted.[10][11]

Notes[edit]

  • When answering letters about the guild, Turuk Redclaws considered Mordra to be more suited to discuss the membership count of the Undaunted.[12]
