Corintthac was a powerful Reachfolk Briarheart mage and warrior, affiliated with the Winterborn Clan in their endeavor to reclaim their lands from the Orsimer through invasion. He sought to amass a menacing army of creatures, intending to unleash them upon the Orcs. One of his ambitions was to retake the Ruby Throne for the Reach. Among his foes, he earned the moniker the Abomination. Among the Reachfolk he was hailed as the Guardian of the Reach.[1][2][3]
History[edit]
Little is known of Corintthac's past. He was a member of the Winterborn clan.[4] At some point he became a Briarheart, a powerful warrior whose role was to protect his clan and kin.[1][5]
In 2E 582, during the conflict between the Winterborn and King Kurog's forces, he fought on the side of the Reachfolk. He harnessed potent magic and conducted dark rituals to taint the land of Wrothgar, invoking the fury of nature. His web of corruption extended its sinister influence across the region, aiming to amass a formidable army of dreadful creatures. In league with hagravens and harpies, he sought dominion over all of Wrothgar's wildlife. His sorcery provoked the local fauna, heightening their aggression and malevolence.[6][2][3]
Representatives of King Kurog, the Orc leader, employed an adventurer to purify the land from corruption and confront him.[6][2][3] The adventurer was provided with a wooden cleansing totem shaped like a flower to purify the widespread corruption across the land.[7] Subsequently, they confronted Corrintach at a site referred to as the Accursed Nursery in the central Wrothgar, where the Reachfolk had called upon him.[6][4] Corrintach arrived in the form of a flock of birds, wielding potent magic, and eventually transforming into a lurcher during the confrontation. However, he was ultimately defeated, putting an end to the corruption's expansion.[1][6] During the battle, he was known to wield a dagger,[1] although some depictions also show him with a staff.[8]
