The nameless Breton hero from the original trailers confronts Kaalgrontiid alongside Nahfahlaar, Queen Khamira, Abnur Tharn, and Sai Sahan. The trailer opens with the protagonists entering the New Moon's lair in the heart of Dragonhold, where Kaalgrontiid is perched on a large aeonstone formation.

The battle is shown in parts. We see the heroes trading blows with their foe before Kaalgrontiid hurls the mortal heroes into a wall with a Shout, and several shots play out showing the two dragons dueling. Before long, the Breton Hero rises, lowers his mask, and fires a beam at Kaalgrontiid, which Nahfahlaar amplifies with his Voice. Abnur Tharn joins in, and Kaalgrontiid is killed by their combined magics.

Once the dragon falls, the aeonstone cluster behind him cracks, filled with excess magical energy: thinking fast, Abnur Tharn encloses the crystal in a ward, giving Khamira time to open a portal to bring Sai and the Hero to safer ground. Tharn begins losing control of the stone when it detonates within its containment. Khamira reaches out to help, but Tharn sends her tumbling into the open portal with a short pulse of magical force. The portal closes, and we see Abnur Tharn come to terms with death before dropping the ward, allowing Dragonhold to explode in a burst of glorious green flame.

The screen fades to black as the title for The Elder Scrolls Online: Elsweyr drops, and the scene fades in to the nameless Nord hero looking over the Western Holds of Skyrim, giving the audience a first glimpse at the setting for the next year's Dark Heart of Skyrim expansion.
