Garon

Garon is a Wood Elf working as a guard for Cardana Pallo aboard the Dawn's Venture.

He carries a Raga Iron Sword and 50 gold and wears a full set of Imperial light armor, boots, bracers and helmet. He also carries a copy of the ship's key, a his contract of employment, a red apple, a portion of cooked beef and 50 gold.

Garon takes his duty seriously, guard his post at the entry of Cardana's store incessantly from 10pm to 6pm the next day. He then takes a two hour break to relax and wander around the shop, before taking a two-hour dinner at 8pm. After that he resumes his initial position, never sleeping.

Garon is a person of few words, seeking to speak to him will be received by short greetings like "What is it?", "Be quick with it." or "Yes?". If you try to trespass inside the ship, Garon will mention things like "Trespassers get the business end of my boot. Get." or "Get out of here. Now." Messing with the objects will be met by remarks like "Really, now?", "Go ahead, break it. Make my day." or "You break it, I break you." If caught stealing, Garon will alert you with words like "Do that again and I'll break your fingers.", "You slimy rat. I saw that." or "Give that to me. Now." Trying to pickpocket and Garon will warn about that: "Quit wasting my time, pickpocket.", "Do you think I'm an idiot?" or "Hands off!" If it need to battle, Garon will taunt things like "Hoo-boy, I'm going to enjoy this!" and "You'll be fish food in no time!"

You can ask him if he likes to work on a ship, which he will answer "It's fine, I suppose. Decent pay and an honest living. Much better than that mess in Bravil..." Stating that he was succinct will make him speak with mildly upset: "What did you want? Were you expecting me to spill my guts to the first slack-jawed adventurer that approached me? If that's what you're looking for, go bother the Argonian. She'll drone on forever about all that "Sax Heels" guar dung if you let her." Asking about Garon's story and he will be short: "My story? Cardana hired me to guard her wares and watch for sticky-fingered filchers."

On goodbye, Garon can say one of those lines: "Why don't you spend some coin now?", "Uh-huh." or "Don't cause any problems, all right?"

If Garon isn't bashing someone's head or catching thieves, you can hear him inside the ship with remarks like: "Can't wait to be out of Skyrim.", "I think I'll buy myself one of those fancy cutlasses next time we're in Stros M'Kai." and "We might need a bigger ship soon."

Dialogue[edit]

Altough short on words, Garon can be asked about some rumors about other provinces. Like the other residents on the ship, he has a multiple rumors for each province asked.

Rumors[edit]

Topic Dialogue
"You travel a lot. You must hear some interesting rumors." "Sure have. Some of them are even true."

Argonia[edit]

"What can you tell me about Black Marsh?" "Nothing good, that's for sure. The place is a deathtrap for the unprepared, and full of creatures eager to tear you apart."
"You ever hear of sea drakes? If one of those things wanted to take the ship down, I don't know that I'd be able to stop it."
"There's these bugs deep in the marsh. They call them flesh flies. Start to eat you from the inside out, and before long you're not much more than a puppet."
"I don't like the glares some of those Argonians shoot my way. Sometimes I worry I might end up with a knife in my back."

Cyrodiil[edit]

"Any news from Cyrodiil?" "Be careful if you ever go spelunking across Cyrodiil. There are creatures there in the deep beyond even the most obscure mythos."
"The dreugh are a non-stop threat to the ship. I've even had a few of the buggers try to climb up on deck."
"The Imperial Navy keeps Niben Bay safe from pirates. The Abecean, on the other hand..."
"Funny stuff always happens when we land at Stirk. Couldn't tell ya why."
"Two words. Wild. Argonians."
"Blackwood isn't safe like it was in my grandfather's time. Gets worse every year. Even the plants seem to want to kill you now."

Morrowind[edit]

"I'm curious about Morrowind." "Bit of advice if you plan to head there. Do not trust merchants in Narsis. Almost as many racketeers as there are stones in the street."
"Word to the wise. Keep your boots away from guar. They'll eat them like sweetmeat and what they produce... could be considered an alchemical horror."
"House Indoril herd these velk things. Like if a moth and a sheep decided to settle down and start a family. Cute, I suppose, but strange."
"Ever heard of a hoom? Big ox-crabs the Redoran herd up in the Velothi Mountains. I hear their shells can play a pretty tune."
"We made a brief stop at Necrom's docks on the way here. Felt a chill up my spine the entire time."

Iliac Bay[edit]

"Anything new in the Iliac Bay?" "As if wolves aren't bad enough, over near Jehanna they have frost wolves. With a bite that'll freeze you in place while they eat you."
'"Stros M'Kai has been the site of many negotiations for peace between warring nations. Some even say a war between gods was settled there."
"Of course, such a place has also seen much bloodshed. History brings ghosts with it, and the Isles are full of them both."
"In the Abecean Isles, I hear they have goats with scales. I suppose that makes them hardy, for the weather. Can't imagine they taste as good, though."
"I've been to Farrun once or twice, but that city makes me nervous. Too many blind corners and tight alleyways."
"That's enough for now." "Mmhm."
