Vidkun the Ugly taking a break from painting in his house in Bruma

Vidkun the Ugly is a deformed Nord commoner who makes his living as a painter.

Vidkun has a simple routine. He rises at 4am every morning and sets to work painting. He takes a break at 10am to eat for two hours, then goes back to it, not stopping until he goes to bed at 8pm.

He wears a wolfskin vest, canvas trousers, and grey leather boots, and carries a paint brush and a loaf of stale bread.

Vidkun's house is located in the slums of southern Bruma. It consists of a single room, which has little in the way of amenities. He sleeps on a pallet and has a bench by the door; his work area has a table for his supplies and an easel for his paintings, which are hung on the walls and neatly stacked on the floor.

Despite his appearance, Vidkun is quite friendly: "A... a visitor? How... how unexpected! Please, please, come in! Don't let my face frighten you, I'm not a monster!" If you ask what happened, he says: "I was born this way! I guess the gods decided that it was my fate to have a face such as this. While I may not be beautiful, at least I still have the ability to create beauty... I am an artist." If you compliment him on his work, he thanks you: "You're too kind. It's been a long time since anyone gave me a compliment. Most people tend to be frightened away by my face. Men repel, woman scream, and children cry, so when I go out into the town, I make sure to cover my face. My paintings are well received, and I almost always sell out, but if I were to ever show my face, I doubt anyone would be interested in my art."
