Maverick Markov in a house in the Imperial City Waterfront District

Maverick Markov is a Nord commoner who is squatting in the house of a dead resident in the Imperial City Waterfront District. He's on the run from the Imperial Watch and is laying low until the heat is off.

Since Maverick is hiding out, afraid someone will discover him, he doesn't usually leave the house. He sleeps from midnight to 8am, eats breakfast for two hours, and spends the rest of the day hanging out in the house, though he does slip out at 11am to drink at the Beerhouse of the Arena for three hours. He eats dinner at 10pm, then goes to bed.

Maverick wears a shirt with suspenders, breeches, and buckled shoes; he carries three lockpicks, a few blackberries, a small amount of gold, a hand scythe, and a key to the house he's occupying.

The house, like most Waterfront residences, is a single room. Half is a dining area with a table and rack of shelves for dishes; the other half is a bedroom, with a bed and dresser. A cupboard and barrel hold foodstuffs, and a locked chest contains gold and gems.

If you stumble into the house, he'll be frightened: Huh? Wh-what do you want?" If you ask if this is his house, he tries to lie: Mine? Well, yeah, it - wait, no, it isn't! It belongs to...a friend of mine, yeah!" If you ask the friend's name, he says: "His name? Oh, well, it's...Arnie, or...Ernest...erm..." Challenging him further causes him to give up the game: "Alright look, I don't know the owner, okay? I just found his body down by the water and took his key. I haven't stolen anything, not yet at least! I just wanted to stay somewhere until the guards stop looking for me. What I did isn't important! And it's not like I killed the guy, he was dead when I found him! Hey, you tell anyone about this, and I will hunt you down!"
