Hey Michael, and welcome to the site. I just noticed that you have been doing some grammatical corrections on the wiki, which is helping a lot. I also noticed that you use edit summaries on your edits, which is a good habit to get into early. If you need any help with the site, just give me a shout. --Aristeo | Talk 14:27, 20 February 2007 (EST)

Oblivion NPC Race Categories[edit]

Hi, thanks for all the work you've been doing with helping to clean up tons of pages. And thanks for wanting to help with cleaning up the NPC race categories. But it's probably better if you hold off on changing categories for NPC pages, because there's a bit of uncertainty right now about exactly how we want to do that. Let me know if you have any questions. --Nephele 16:41, 10 March 2007 (EST)

That's three times now...[edit]

Looks like we're stepping on eachother's toes a bit here, huh? Anyhow, it all got cleared up eventually. Welcome to the site, by the way. --TheRealLurlock Talk 23:34, 10 March 2007 (EST)

Incidentally, if you're going to be working on the Bloodmoon NPCs, the complete list is on Bloodmoon:People, so if you start from there, you'll get the spelling right. (Especially helps with those weird Nord-names. We've had a few wildly misspelled versions of those already.) --TheRealLurlock Talk 23:41, 10 March 2007 (EST)

Needs Image tags[edit]

Please don't add these tags to articles in the Tamriel namespace - it messes up the transcludes. (Most Tamriel articles, particularly for places, are transcluded on other pages.) Instead, find the appropriate namespace article and add it there - or better yet, find an image and just add it. At any rate, there really isn't a need for every page on the wiki to have an image on it, so you don't have to go crazy adding tags. These should mainly be used on pages where the subject is important enough that it would feel wrong not to have one. --TheRealLurlock Talk 23:41, 12 March 2007 (EDT)

So do we just want pictures of people, in that case? Michael 00:34, 13 March 2007 (EDT)
Not saying that. In fact, we certainly don't want pictures of every person in the game either. (Especially in Morrowind, there's a LOT of people in that game.) Just, pictures should be of important, notable things. And there's certainly no requirement for pictures in most cases. If you want to add a picture of Hirstaang Forest, go ahead and add one. But adding "Needs Image" tags to every page that doesn't have one is not necessary, especially in cases where an image isn't really required. I mean, it's a forest. Not much to say about it. The tag is mainly meant for pages where the lack of an image seems to be a grievous oversight. (Like, if there was no picture on Morrowind:Balmora, it would look wrong.) At any rate, the tag would belong in the namespace if anywhere, in this case Bloodmoon:Hirstaang Forest, not Tamriel:Hirstaang Forest. This prevents pages which transclude the Tamriel article from having their formatting messed up by the big green tag. (Oh, and sorry for reverting the article without checking - the Raven Rock one was just the image tag, so I thought they both were, didn't notice the spelling corrections along with it.)
By the way, I moved this conversation here from my talk page. Generally, it's best to keep any conversations on the page they started on to avoid confusion. --TheRealLurlock Talk 00:48, 13 March 2007 (EDT)

Warning nonsense bots[edit]

Just noticed you adding a warning to that nonsense bot earlier and wanted to let you know that that isn't necessary. Edits of this type come from a bot, which means that there's no human on the other side to read them. Site policy is just to block them when we see them. And one of the clues that Admins use to see these problem edits is a nice red "Talk" link on Recent Changes. Adding a warning to the talk page makes the link blue, and it blends in with all the other editors, so it's generally better to leave these alone and let an Admin deal with them. (Though reverting their nonsense edits is always helpful, thanks.) --TheRealLurlock Talk 22:47, 12 November 2007 (EST)

You need a User Page :)[edit]

Do you realize you're the only user in the Top 50 without a User Page? To paraphrase Homer Simpson, you're someone who we don't know who you are! ;) --RobinHood70 (TalkE-mailContribs) 13:54, 18 February 2008
