Catch seasonal fish in Shadowfen
Catch five of each type of fish traditionally served during the Fish Boon Feast in Shadowfen.

Fish Boon Angler is awarded for catching five of each of the three types of fish that can be caught in Shadowfen for the New Life Festival. The three fish are the Histmuck Blobfin, the Shadowfen Creeping Leech, and the Black Marsh Cucumber. These can only be caught in two fishing hole areas in southeastern Shadowfen, which are marked on your map during the Fish Boon Feast. These fishing holes do not appear the rest of the year, and you cannot find any of the standard rare Shadowfen fish here. Aside from this achievement and the associated quest, these fish have no value, as they cannot be filleted or sold to vendors, so feel free to destroy any extras you have after the event is over, or save them for next year if you've got room for them.

Notes[edit]

  • As there are normally many people fishing at once, the holes will run out quickly, so ensure that you have auto-loot on and make sure to react fast when reeling in the fish.
  • You must actually catch the fish to gain this achievement, not get it from another player (unlike the quest).
  • All types of bait work; however in rare cases they might result in getting Used Bait.
  • If you are new to fishing, this page has useful information about the activity.
