Broken Link[edit]

The red link should link to that related side quest.

The quest allready exists, but is not placed under Oblivion:Quests, so the link is broken.

I would move the quest myself, but it's allready linked somewhere (at least once in Breaking the Siege of Kvatch) and anyway I would never risk to anything like that to someone else work. I'm relatively new to this site, surely to editing it, so I leave this task someone more expert.

I think that should be the right thing to do, 'cause so the link allready in this page would update description anytime the linked quest description is edited. If this is not important, or worse, not liked, I could replace that link with the one below. The only difference would be that in this case description would be fixed, and so any one who decide to correct the original one should correct this to.

The Battle for Castle Kvatch: Try and save the Count of Kvatch, and rid the city of any remaining Daedra — Unsigned comment by Gara (talkcontribs) at 12:32 on 20 June 2006 (GMT)

heeeeelp[edit]

i left these quests for a lil bit and basically theyre impossible now

the forlone ghost has only wraiths on the ship and kill me in like 2-3 hits and theres like 20 of em

the castle of kvatch is completely overrun, i havent tried invisibility but im thinkin about it because i will never beat the 2 huge ice creatures 2 scamps 3 fire things and 4 of those things that ram you

im level 14 and i dont think to shabby of a player, i dont think im victim of the leveling problem (although they never shoulda made such a great but time consuming game have a problem like that)im a blood mage / born with attribute +50 magika) my main spells are summon ghost fireblast/ice blast 15% protection

i love the game but am dissapointed that after all this time its still so hard to do just about anything... any advice is welcome

Err...Well...Maybe you should try turning the difficulty down. Did you turn it up? Rpgjunkie 19:34, 22 February 2007 (EST)
Hey mate you should try boosting your conjuration higher, ghosts are only good at around lvl 2-6--Willyhead 06:46, 23 June 2007 (EDT)
...attack the weak point for massive damage?
no seriously just lower the difficulty if its to tough. Other than that just block always, prioritize targets, sneak attack, and keep going for it.

Kvatch Rebuilt[edit]

is it possable that a mod could be made to rebuild kavatch and make you the king? and add alot of new quests and npc's, that would be so awsome24.150.92.115 19:38, 17 May 2008 (EDT)

According to TESnexus, the 2 most popular Kvatch mods are:
IIRC, the basic story pans out that you get made Duke/Duchess and have to fork out the cash for the reconstruction of the city yourself. --Saruuk 22:16, 17 May 2008 (EDT)
But isnt that only for the PC version of the game? Is it possible someone could make one for the console version? Chris-the-killer 00:37, 17 July 2010 (UTC)
It is not possible to make custom mods for the console versions of the game. --Tenraah 05:30, 17 July 2010 (UTC)
Yes it is possible. But the textures do not seem to work most of the time. - Disbala 00:32, 14 February 2011 (UTC)

reference to Kvetch[edit]

The name of the city is close to the word Kvetch-which means to complain or a complainer.

Maby this fact should go in the easter eggs part as a joke beacuse they people of "Kvatch" now are complaining about the fact that they have no home. — Unsigned comment by Warmanivan (talkcontribs) on 8 October 2008

This is nothing at all like an easter egg. A vague similarity between two words is absolutely not an egg. Furthermore, the city of Kvatch was established well before Oblivion came out. Lastly, most of them are not complaining - they're scared and shocked. A coincidence is not an easter egg. –RpehTCE 06:44, 8 October 2008 (EDT)

Quest[edit]

shouldnt "restoration training be in the page because it does hav somthing to do with kvatch — Unsigned comment by LuciusZelgius (talkcontribs) at 02:53 on 15 November 2008 (GMT)

It is already referenced many times.--Tm 21:59, 14 November 2008 (EST)
It is a quest that requires that you visit Kvatch, so for consistency with all other quests and all other location pages, the quest belongs in the Related Quests section. I've added it. --NepheleTalk 01:00, 19 November 2008 (EST)

Bitten Human Head[edit]

Go into Kvatch, go up to the side door of the chapel, but turn left and look at the remnants of a house. You'll notice one of the plank that's set up like a ramp to the left of the door. Go up the plank, go to the right, into the house and keep going. You'll see a chest, some other things and a human head with a big chunk missing on the table. DaedryonTCE 02:39, 3 December 2008 (EST)

Yeah. Theres two others in the castle too. (Also if you want the easiest silver battle axe ever (not that this has to do with kavatch) right as you walk in you'll se a dead charred body. There is another charred body in lava or magma there is the axe kind of under it on the left side.) (DeAdLy 1mPaCt 02:18, 7 December 2010 (UTC))

Historical information[edit]

"The date of the city's foundation is uncertain but it certainly existed by 3E 249, as sources show it was a major settlement when sacked by the Camoran Usurper. During this assault, Antus Pinder led the defense of the city, and despite being defeated gravely, was given a statue in Kvatch to remember his courage and spirit."

You might add a mention that the 'Kingdom of Kvatch' (presumably a city-state with Kvatch as its capital) is mentioned in the book Rislav the Righteous, dating back to at least the 400s of the First Era. 144.124.16.33 21:43, 17 October 2009 (UTC)

Lovely Weather we're having today[edit]

Should it be Mentioned that it will ALWAYS be raining/cloudy where the oblivion gate opened and inside of the City, because it has NEVER been sunny in Kvatch--VergilSparda 17:15, 17 January 2010 (UTC)

Mod?[edit]

Should it be mentioned that there is a mod that rebuilds kvatch but... Then we would have to do these to all pages Right? --Thedrunknord 02:09, 4 November 2010 (UTC)

Count still alive?[edit]

Today I was in kavatch doing taking the siege of kavach quest of somthing. But when I went to the castle the count was still alive with a dead daedroth on the floor. A screen popped up saying "The count is dead" or somthing like that but he was standing alive and also looking better than the count of Leyawiin. All I could do was knock him unconsis and I need the ring that he is wering making the quest uncompletable? (I have done this on my other profile but stopped on that one because of vampirism) What can I do *_* ? (DeAdLy 1mPaCt 00:19, 27 November 2010 (UTC))

Use a console command to add the ring to your inventory. Unless you're on a console, in which case you're basically screwed and should thank bethesda for their superior tech support. — Unsigned comment by 71.199.167.104 (talk) at 05:52 on 24 December 2011 (GMT)

Region[edit]

In response to this edit, what region of Cyrodiil is county Kvatch in exactly? It seems to be right on the intersection of the West Weald, Colovian Highlands, and Gold Coast. --DKong27 Talk Cont 04:18, 27 February 2011 (UTC)

"Technically it's counted to be a part of the Gold Coast, although as you can see from this page's image it actually lies on the border between three regions. This is because region boundaries aren't always very clear even using the Construction Set, and are usually determined by the weather patterns. Kvatch has its own little "region" which causes it to rain all the time. So you can come up with your own interpretation, if you want. Personally I like to think it's in the Colovian Highlands, because of Kvatch's strong link with Colovia and the fact that it's on a hill. Legoless 18:19, 5 April 2011 (UTC)"
Thats what I got from Legoless when I asked him on the regions page Kinvalor75 22:46, 8 April 2011 (UTC)

Formatting cleanup[edit]

This page needs some help and I'm too new to know how. The text is showing in random places and over the top of pictures. I've heard of tagging for cleanup but this is the best I can manage :P 67.183.254.238 02:40, 22 November 2011 (UTC)

I'm not seeing any problems with the page. What browser are you using? Can you provide a screenshot of what you're seeing? --NepheleTalk 02:47, 22 November 2011 (UTC)
On my little netbook it's IE 9 ver 9.0.8112.16421CO if it helps. screenshot is here on photobucket--Beanstyle 03:16, 22 November 2011 (UTC)
OK, when I use IE9 I'm seeing the same issue. I'll see if I can find the cause. --NepheleTalk 03:40, 22 November 2011 (UTC)
As far as I can tell, I've now been able to fix the problem. But let me know if it hasn't been fixed for you. Thanks for pointing out the problem! --NepheleTalk 03:47, 22 November 2011 (UTC)
Looks great from my end, problem solved--Beanstyle 03:51, 22 November 2011 (UTC)

Possible reference[edit]

I will be suprised if anyone reads this but... Kvatch is very similar to the German word Quatch which is (believe it or not) pronounced Kvatch. Furthermore, Quatch actually means "rubble"...Coincidence? I think not Oblivionite 22:11, 27 February 2012 (UTC)

See this discussion. Robin Hoodtalk 06:04, 24 March 2012 (UTC)

Jiub's head[edit]

This was mentioned in some dlc from skyrim. He basically said that jiub lived in kvatch when the oblivion crysis occured and then he was killed by a adra and soul trapped. I went searching for stuff to back this up and low and behold, i found his head! Its the same head mentioned in an abive post. The one where you go up the plank into a house and on a table is a head next to a chest!! It looks just like jiub (albeit with a large chunk missing) go and see for yourself. — Unsigned comment by 58.106.93.90 (talk) at 05:40 on 18 April 2013 (GMT)

That would be a funny coincidence, but it doesn't work unfortunately. =) The corpse has both eyes (even with almost everything else missing), whereas Jiub has a blind eye. Weroj (talk) 22:17, 5 June 2013 (GMT)

The Arena note[edit]

When trekking through the city to reach the castle, there is a destroyed arena. In the Oblivion:Bruma page, there is a note saying that in the trailer there was an arena, which supported the fact that all cities were to have an arena. I thought copying that note and changing it to fit this page would be appropriate --Rezalon (talk) 01:39, 8 November 2015 (UTC)

I removed the note from the page because there was no source provided to support the claim, which makes the note seem more speculatory than anything. Information added to the wiki has to be accurate and verifiable, so notes like that have to be backed up by links to game files or developer interviews - anything that another person could use to verify the information. Zul do onikaanLaan tinvaak 02:00, 8 November 2015 (UTC)
According to Guilbert Selone, there was an arena in Kvatch before it was destroyed. When asked about Kvatch after getting to safety, he says, "We had everything here. Beautiful gardens. Fresh mountain air. Did you know Kvatch had the only Arena in Cyrodiil outside the Imperial City? All gone now, though. Just smoke and mud and rubble." So it's probably worth noting that there was an arena in Kvatch before the town was destroyed, on the lore article perhaps. However, it'd be speculation to suggest that all cities were supposed to have an arena, considering this dialogue actually contradicts that notion. Forfeit (talk) 06:03, 8 November 2015 (UTC)
Fair enough. Zul do onikaanLaan tinvaak 12:39, 8 November 2015 (UTC)

() I've restored the note in full. The plan for each city to have an arena has been common knowledge for years, and I'm pretty sure it was backed up by a developer at some point (possibly the Oblivion 'making of' documentary?). Originally, the Arena Questline would have taken place across all eight/nine cities before finally qualifying for the Imperial City arena. This can be substantiated through unused Chorrol dialogue, unused cells relating to Chorrol and Anvil arenas, the pre-release Bruma footage, and the destroyed Kvatch arena. I've no idea why our unfinished quests page makes no mention of the other arenas, but that's no reason to remove it from the wiki. —Legoless (talk) 12:58, 8 November 2015 (UTC)

I've never heard of anything like that, but if there is indeed information in the construction kit to verify it, then there's no problem. That being said, in the interest of avoiding redundancy, it might be prudent to add a note about the unused arenas (with any applicable diffs) to the unfinished quests page, rather than have a note on each individual article. Zul do onikaanLaan tinvaak 22:17, 8 November 2015 (UTC)
A link to that page definitely wouldn't go amiss, but someone with more knowledge about the arenas would have to add it first. —Legoless (talk) 22:43, 8 November 2015 (UTC)
