History

Tali has always been more of a black sheep of her Dark Brotherhood family. Despite her moderate capability as an assassin, her cheery attitude was looked down upon for 'not honoring' their style of murder. All the same, she gained a respectful friendship with the two Shadowscales, Ocheeva and Teinaava of the Cheydinhal base.

She never fully got along with her father, Dandras Vules. It is exactly their lack of connection that got her cast out from the Dark Brotherhood family after an unfortunate series of events involving a mass assassination within their family. Their base lacked a scapegoat, and Dandras offered his own daughter. He forced himself to think less of her for weeks before he was finally able to do this.

Fortunately, Tali survived an assassination attempt. She fled east-northeast from her home in the Imperial City and stepped into Morrowind.

She was hesitant at first, but in order to train herself up efficiently and wreak revenge on his father (while planning to claim his legendary Hissyo Katana), she was forced to join the Morag Tong. They did not immediately recognize her assassin armor as Dark Brotherhood, but she quickly told important masters of her past allegiances and her story. She was not the first defect, and they sympathized with her plan.
She still doesn't plan to renounce the Dark Brotherhood, nor completely halt her worship of Sithis. She also doesn't like the consistent rumors of the Dark Brotherhood being complete monsters.

It took some time, but after a while she became a capable swordswoman and assassin. She even joined the Thieves Guild, but mostly in the capacity of making money to fund her revenge. Beyond that, she was content at staying as a Captain and had no aspirations to progress to a Master Thief of Morrowind. That honor went to someone else during her ventures.
The same can also be said for the East Empire Company (to which she consistently steals ebony deposits) and the Mages Guild (to practice enhancing her ability to hide with magic).

With difficulty, she was able to enact her revenge. In fact, it was more difficult getting to her father than it was to kill him, as he posted many capable guards. She succeeded very well and picked off one Dark Brotherhood assassin at a time.
She finally happened upon him, and they didn't speak. Their family ties had long been severed, and Tali opened her attack with a blade straight into his back. He fought, but not as well as he could have. Tali took minimal injuries.

She claimed his gold-trimmed assassin garb, and his sword.

She doesn't think much about her way of life. She simply figures it's as ordinary a job as someone selling kwama eggs on a street corner. She even walks around in her assassin uniform in public, casually. Whenever there is war, there is a necessity for Tali. Good or evil, she'll kill anyone and watch things change from afar.

Personality

He never knew what hit him

Despite her profession, she's actually rather chipper. Friendly to most, even while wearing a mask.

When on a job, she does have the capability to get more serious. But the transition between moods are instant, which is jarring to those who don't know her very well.

Beyond that, many consider her a splendid girl to be around.

Personal Abilities

Even though she's approximately twenty-two years old, she's a capable fighter. She enjoys longswords but is perfectly capable of using daggers and knives (and often prefers them when hunting a mark).
