Category Depth[edit]
I think that category depth should not be any deeper than 2 (e.g., Tamriel, and Tamriel-Factions). Any deeper than that, and you're just replicating a directory structure, which isn't that desirable
BTW, I changed "Tamriel-Guilds" to "Tamriel-Factions" as a better descriptive term.

[edit]
The original site had a structure like Main-Morrowind-Quests-Main Quest-Part X. To a certain extent the article categories will provide a similar structure, but main pages should also be created to help users find content. These pages will primarily just organize links to specific content, like the original pages.
Update[edit]
This article hasn't been updated since the release of Oblivion. It needs some more sub-categories under the Oblivion category. --Aristeo 20:39, 6 May 2006 (EDT)
Categorization System[edit]
There's a discussion about this categorization system going on at the community portal. (Yes, I know I should have started it here, but I forgot that this page existed!) --Aristeo 13:09, 22 September 2006 (EDT)
Cartography Category[edit]
I see that Daveh has started work on the map of Solstheim and the realm of Apocrypha, as added by the Dragonborn DLC. Awesomeness! I was wondering if this might be a good time to replace (or supplement/complement) the current "See Also" sections on the other map design pages, such as Skyrim Map Design, Oblivion Map Design, and Morrowind Map Design, with a category of some sort? Personally, I think there needs to be a clearer delineation on the wiki between cartography that involves straight jpeg maps that are uploaded to the wiki, and cartography that involves the external maps that rely on the Google API (or similar). — Daric✐ 03:30, 22 May 2013 (GMT)
Category linking[edit]
Some information should be given about the [[:Category:foo]] method of linking to categories on this page, I think. It's not often used but sometimes it's handy to be able to link to the category page. --Morrolan (talk) 20:59, 10 September 2013 (GMT)
Online Images categories[edit]
I have a lot of screenshots of harvesting nodes out in the world from the last beta - plants, logs, ore "veins" (they aren't called that anymore), runestones, etc. And I was wondering if all of them go in the Online-Miscellaneous Images category? Since there are so very many examples of nodes, and the plants in particular are hard to distinguish (hence the uploads in the first place), I was wondering if we could get a category like Skyrim-Flora Images? Maybe broader?
I also have an image of how Keen Eye looks on alchemical nodes, but that can go wherever as far as I'm concerned.
P.S. I uploaded an image of Blessed Thistle in the wild already. File:ON-node-Blessed Thistle.jpg. I'm going to replace it as soon as the game launches (no more betas, I suppose?) because that shadow and the textures are awful and I hope I can find examples of every kind of plant before I forget and grab Keen Eye - Reagents because that ruins the point, doesn't it? likelolwhat talk lulzy to me 06:00, 17 March 2014 (GMT)
- They are called gathering nodes in the game. We have two options here. We name them each according to what they are. ore vein, flora, rune, log. The other option is just to name them all node. Jeancey (talk) 06:07, 17 March 2014 (GMT)
- I do like node. It's simple to type repeatedly, which is nice for me and, I suppose, other uploaders. And while some categories would have many entries in them - flora, the biggest I imagine - one comes to mind that will have around three. There's only so many ways to capture runes in the wild. likelolwhat talk lulzy to me 06:20, 17 March 2014 (GMT)
- Node would make sense to me as well. We don't need too many categories. --Enodoc (talk) 15:26, 17 March 2014 (GMT)
- Okay, now that I've actually realized I can create the category myself (duh *headdesk*), I will. Nodes seems to be the way to go. likelolwhat talk lulzy to me 05:20, 18 March 2014 (GMT)

Putting a category in itself[edit]
Why do we do that? It makes no sense to me. I don't want to just start undoing all instances of that because I presume a decision was made somewhere. ~ Ad intellige (talk) 06:06, 17 July 2014 (GMT)
