Free Upgrade for ESO Players to Next Console Generation — November 09, 2020

With the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and Series S succeeding the PlayStation Four and Xbox One, Elder Scrolls Online console players who are considering upgrading are being given a little deal. Bethesda has announced that there will be free upgrades made available for players making the jump to the next generation of consoles. This comes with some stipulations, however. If you own a physical copy of ESO for your chosen console, you cannot get a digital-only console if you want to receive the ESO upgrade, as it will still require your disc to play. Additionally, you cannot switch from a PlayStation 4 to an Xbox Series X or Series S or an Xbox One to a PlayStation 5 and receive the upgrade.

The upgrade will also be made available to DOOM Eternal. While Bethesda has promised that these upgrades are coming, they have not announced when they will be available. They have also stated that while they do not have a time to end the free upgrades in mind at the moment, their wording also left it open for them to later announce a cutoff on free upgrades.
