Neresa Veran, the Minister of Temple Affairs in Old Ebonheart and wife of the disgraced General Casik

Neresa Veran is a Dark Elf Priest, and the Minister of Temple Affairs. In this capacity, she advises the Burgrave, Caros Cocceius on Temple matters, and he values her word highly enough to ban necromancy on her say-so, during the events of Belated Justice. Despite her faith in the Temple, she is under investigation on suspicion of heresy, due in part to her closeness to the Empire, and this is a matter of some upset to her.

Another possible reason for the suspicions the Temple have of her is her marriage to the now-incarcerated General Casik, who is accused of aiding an Argonian ambush during the Arnesian War, in which Morrowind and Black Marsh came to blows. She is close to her bodyguard, Rumus Stannicus, although Rumus will deny any emotional attachment to her beyond a sense of obligation arising from General Casik's fall from grace, and Nerasa herself will call him "the only true friend I have left".
