Nalvyna Balen is a Dunmer Scribe and an Oathman of House Hlaalu.

As Chief Clerk of the Port Authority in Andothren, Nalvyna finds herself running a logistical machine that frequently encounters errors, delays and threats of legal action under Imperial law, with half of her quests for House Hlaalu being a reaction to such threats. She is dismissive of many of her workers ("our useless staff"), particularly at the warehouse, and nervous of her own position being usurped from elsewhere, as nearly happens in A New Employment.

Nalvyna is therefore grateful to you, in the event that she finds you a decent employee, to the extent that she describes you as her "most reliable underling" in A New Employment.
