Prerequisites

• To begin this quest, you must have enrolled in Odunia Hare's class by speaking to Marilus Arjus by the College entrance about enroll, and selecting "Archaeological Methods".

Quick Walkthrough

1. With 60+ disposition, speak to Odunia Hare in her Firewatch College classroom about her side business.
2. Seek out a Dwemer artifact buyer by asking around College staff and students, or by enquiring at The Howling Noose.
3. Either:
   • Sell Professor Hare's Coherer to a buyer.
   • (If starting Academic Contraband), hand the coherer in to Lora Avis at the city's East Empire Company building.
4. (If Odunia isn't arrested) Return to Odunia to pay her a 50 gold cut of your proceeds.

Detailed Walkthrough

Odunia Hare can be found in the College of Firewatch, and has a gambling problem that has resulted in a sudden need for funds. If you are a member of her class, then with 60+ disposition, she will ask you to find a buyer for a Dwemer artifact that she has faked. According to her, this isn't strictly speaking illegal - like selling a real Dwemer artifact would be, but she admits it lies in a grey area.

Ask around those present in the College to get leads on potential Dwemer artifact buyer. Most will point you to Endinalas, while the custodian of the college museum, Gi-Lei, will recommend going to Merdon Dillmoon in the city, as he has been a frequent visitor to the museum, and has been known to take an interest in the Dwemer pieces there. If, however, you choose to ask at The Howling Noose, a Dunmer there named Nurain Brenim can tip you off about the existence of a potential buyer named Shabhi, in Nivalis.

Endinalas can be found in the College Dormitory, and will immediately recognise the artifact on offer as a fake. Nonetheless, she is fond enough of Odunia to offer 100 gold for the counterfeit.

Shabhi can be found in The Black Ogre Tavern, in Nivalis - a small settlement most easily accessed from Firewatch via boat. A smuggler, she seems taken by the piece's unusual lightness, and will offer 200 gold.

Merdon Dillmoon meanwhile can be found within Dillmoon Manor in Firewatch. While he will happily agree to buy the artifact, the amount of he offers depends on his disposition towards you. 30+ disposition will net an offer of 150 gold, 60+ will get a 200 gold offer, and 80+ will prompt an offer of 250 gold.

Once you have chosen your buyer and actually sold the Coherer, return to Odunia to give her a 50 gold cut.

Notes

• The East Empire Company quest, Academic Contraband, also covers Odunia's shady dealings, and if you begin that quest after Odunia has given you to the coherer to sell, you can turn the coherer in to Lora Avis, claiming it to be either real, or admitting it to be a fake.
• You may also sell the coherer, and then get Odunia arrested during Academic Contraband in order to keep her cut.
