Arieglos of Eldenroot

Arieglos of Eldenroot is a Wood Elf noble and the ambassador at the Valenwood Mission in the Ebon Tower. He will ask you to calm down Irniwen Man-Eater, who is angry that the Summerset Isles Mission is so close. He may reward you with either a Witch Charm or 100 gold depending on your actions.

As the ambassador of Valenwood in Morrowind, Arieglos has quite a bit to say about recent events, particularly concerning a war with the Summerset Isles.

He wears an extravagant robe, dreugh boots, and wields a silver staff of paralysis. Aside from his natural resistance to disease, and the ability to command animals, he knows no spells.

Dialogue[edit]

  • Greetings:
    • Before Aldmeri Diplomacy:
      "Hello, %PCName. I am the ambassador here at the Valenwood Mission. I'm sure you have questions for me, and I am happy to answer. Or you can help me with something, never hurts to gain an ambassador's favor every now and again."
    • Disposition >= 30:
      "Hello, %PCName. I am the ambassador here at the Valenwood Mission. I'm sure you have questions for me, and I am happy to answer."
    • "I have nobles and knights to attend to, why should I give my time to you instead of them?"
  • Ambassador's Favor:
    • "Irniwen Man-Eater has been less than content with the Summerset Isles Mission being so close. I've tried to tell her that the war is over, and we should move past the unfortunate strife with our neighbors. She won't listen to me, claiming I'm part of the problem. She might listen to a new, friendly face though. If you could, please convince her to stand down."
      • I can try.
        • "Yff're be praised! She's upstairs on the second floor, here in the Valenwood Mission. I know she can be stubborn, but I'm certain a personable %PCRace like yourself can get through to her. I hope I don't have to try and tell you to be discreet on this matter."
      • Not my problem.
        • "Very well. I suppose you have much better things to do than to maintain the peace between two provinces. I'll just have to find someone that isn't too self-absorbed to help an ambassador with a simple yet important task."
          (Disposition -20)
    • After successfully talking to Irniwen:
      "Splendid news! You have been a great help. On behalf of both myself and all of Valenwood, please accept this as my thanks -- I'm sure it will be of use to you."
      (Reputation +1, Disposition +20, Randir of Silvenar Disposition + 10, Witch Charm has been added to your inventory)
    • After unsuccessfully talking to Irniwen:
      "If that's how Irniwen feels on the matter, then I have no choice but to send her back to Silvenar. Would you mind telling her for me? I have other matters that need my attention. Don't be afraid to sweet talk her a bit before you do, she's not gonna like what you have to say."
    • Irniwen is dead from attacking you:
      "Thank you for trying. I don't blame you for defending yourself, but I do wish you would have handled the situation with some semblance of tact. Here's something for your trouble."
      (Disposition +5, 100 Gold has been added to your inventory)
    • Irniwen leaves after ultimatum:
      "Thank you, %PCClass. I am sad to see her go, but it's for the best. Here's something for you."
      (Reputation +1, Disposition +10, Witch Charm has been added to your inventory)
    • Irniwen is dead unprovoked:
      "A pity. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to write a letter to The Silvenar about this unnecessary murder, inform the Duke of Vvardenfell, and hope that the Summerset Isles Ambassador doesn't suspect the rest of us of having similar views to Irniwen." Goodbye
      (Disposition -20)
    • If you told Maeracaine the truth about Irniwen Man-Eater:
      "Remind me to never entrust you with any sort of favor or request again."
  • Summerset Isle:
    • (Disposition >= 30)
      "The war is behind us. While some wounds might still be fresh for some citizens, both the Summerset Isles and Valenwood have come to an agreement of sorts. Altmer and Bosmer have been allies for a very long time, almost as long as some Altmeri wizards, I'm sure we will move past those unfortunate times and reclaim that friendship our nations have had in the past."
  • Queen Ulandra:
    • (Disposition >= 30)
      "Queen Ulandra, often called the "The Wooded Queen of War" is the Queen of Eldenroot. During the Imperial Silumacrum [sic], she used Selene's Heart to force the lich into protecting not just Eldenroot, but the whole of Valenwood as well. Having a shapeshifting lich at your disposal comes in handy in times of war. After the wars ended my queen was quite popular with our people. Because of this The Silvenar and King Camoran agreed to let her people represent us here in Morrowind, and so here I am."
  • The Silvenar: "The defacto High King of Valenwood. The Silvenar is blessed with being the representation of the Bosmeri people in a quite literal way. From Yokuda to Akavir, Pyandonea to Atmora, every Bosmer is equally represented."
  • Woodhearth: "Woodhearth is a major city on the southwestern coast of Valenwood, overlooking The Blue Divide. During the Imperial Simulacrum, a war broke out between the Summerset Isles and Valenwood. The war didn't last very long, but it ended with the Summerset Isles taking several of the Valenwood Islands, half of Haven's Altmeri population being executed, and the Altmeri war-wizards engulfing Woodhearth in flames."
  • my trade: "I am the ambassador to this fine ebon city from Valenwood, though originally I am from Eldenroot, home of Queen Ulandra, the "Wooded Queen of War" as some call her now. My clan has long served her Royal Highness and her late husband's kin since the first era if memory serves."
  • Selene:
    • (Disposition >= 30)
      "A vile creature and a high priestess of a lesser god of spiders known as Shagrath. Some say she is a changeling, others say her shapeshifting is simply a result of Bosmeri magics. Once her heart had been stolen from her web, she was under Queen Ulandra's control, lest her heart be crushed and her body turn to ash. No one but Ulandra herself knows where she is now or if she even survived."
  • Valenwood: "The province of Valenwood is the home of Bosmer such as myself. While the city-states of Eldenroot, Falinesti, Haven, Arenthia, Silvenar, Southpoint, Greenheart, and what's left of Woodhearth all vary radically in culture, architecture, and policy; we all serve under the Empire and The Silvenar."
