Unowned chest bug?
I picked the (novice) lock of an unowned chest (it did not show up red) at the base of the tower. This immediately resulted in a 5 gold bounty in Whiterun. Is this a general bug with supposedly unowned locked containers, or a specific bug for this chest? --Xyzzy 02:35, 11 May 2012 (UTC)
- Picking locks is illegal, period. It doesn't matter whether the lock is owned or not. Most of the time when you're picking the locks of chests you are in places populated by things like bandits and draugr who don't report crimes, or you're picking owned chests in towns so they're red. But lockpicking is always illegal, which is why it shows up in the crime statistics. --Morrolan (talk) 01:15, 13 April 2013 (GMT)
I went back to my oldest savegame, which was deep inside Bleak Falls Barrow. I was level 5. I used "coc" to travel to the Tower, saved the game, and opened the strongbox. The chest contained 2 garnets. I reloaded my most recent save (at the tower), then used "advlevel" and "setlevel" to raise my level to 15, then opened it again. Both times I found the same 2 garnets. I then reloaded my oldest save inside Bleak Falls Barrow, setlevel to 15, "coc whitewatchtowerexterior01", and opened the strongbox. This time I found a flawless garnet. I reloaded my oldest save again, set level to 65, teleported to the tower, and opened the strongbox. This time it contained 1 amethyst. It appears that the strongbox is leveled, but maxes out early. --Xyzzy 03:12, 11 May 2012 (UTC)
Gold Silver & Iron Ore?
- If you ever have trouble following the instructions for ore veins, click the map link and zoom in, they can all be seen there. This Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 07:23, 4 June 2013 (GMT) link has them all included, or if it doesn't show them on your screen, the tower is just to the north and the gold vein to the south.
wachturm von weißlauf
Anyone else have the "white watchtower" become "wachturm von weißlauf" on the map? I don't know how long it's been there like that, but I just noticed it today. — Unsigned comment by 22.214.171.124 (talk) at 23:58 on 23 August 2013
