Completing his quest seems to allow the player to ride the horses from the Riften Stables without incurring any bounty. 18.104.22.168 23:40, 2 January 2012 (UTC)
Is possible for Shadr to be killed before starting his quest. I was trying to give Sapphire the letter from Glover Mallory but she won't talk to me. She just says "I don't have any business with you so get out of my face. I don't recall the required conversation when I first entered Riften, but when I tried to find Shadr to start the quest, he is nowhere to be found. — Unsigned comment by 22.214.171.124 (talk) on 025:08, 20 December 2015
- According to the page, Shadr is not essential, so it is possible he died from the usual Skyrim dangers -- dragons, vampires, etc. -- before you could get to him. —likelolwhat talk lulzy to me 04:21, 21 December 2015 (UTC)
It seems to be a very common problem for him to just vanish from the game all of a sudden if you don't quickly start his quest, with sources on the internet claiming that the only solution is to restart to a previous save or just live with it. In my game, I found (by using the moveto console command) that he was stuck in Snow-Shod Manor for whatever reason. So if you're in a situation where you can't find Shadr at all and you're sure he hasn't died, try picking the lock of the manor and checking in there.
