Crash to Black[edit]

Wearing this ring while running through falling snow in arctic areas (to shorten exposure time to cold) while in Survival Mode has caused crashes to a black screen with ambient sound still playing. Escaping to Task Manager with ctrl-alt-del doesn't help since Task Manager does NOT see Skyrim SE as a task at that point. It requires rebooting the computer! I don't know if this is a hardware problem. So if someone else has experienced this, it would eliminate hardware as the trouble source. So, has anyone out there had a similar crash? Ring of the Wind in Skyrim seems not able to have its enchantment learned by visiting an enchanting table[edit]

Just got the ring after getting and putting on the Lucky Fishing Hat at the same place as I had previously gotten the hat. I tried to disenchant the ring to learn its enchantment, but it seemed to me not listed in the available enchanted things for learning its enchantment.

I was going to see how fast I could run with a restoration loop enhanced Fortify Enchanting potion before the game would routinely hang or crash due to having too much computational stress upon the Xbox One console, but alas, this is NOT possible, and the details on this page indicate it only comes in one power setting flavor of 15%. The speed increase is noticeable, but no crashes or hangs yet. 216.58.27.151 01:14, 29 January 2022 (UTC)

Survival Mode and other benefits[edit]

If you are playing the Survival mode with no fast travel, then being able to cover ground faster is a real benefit. For example: the common trip from Whiterun carriage to the Lakeside (HF) home is quicker when wearing the ring. Also, while not as good as a horse when climbing mountains, the ring does help to make longer leaps. Kalevala (talk) 21:05, 21 June 2022 (UTC)

Bow attack speeds?[edit]

Do we know if the ring of the wind affects only melee attack speeds or if it also affects bow draw/fire rates as well? Best way to test would be to get a powerful fortify illusion potion, then equip the ring to see if there is a noticeable difference. — Unsigned comment by Nophlast (talkcontribs) at 16:52 on 27 February 2024 (UTC)

This question is now redundant because we know fast does not affect swing speed (with the exception of bloodthirst) and bloodthirst cannot affect bows anyway -Nophlast — Unsigned comment by Nophlast (talkcontribs) at 22:17 on 5 March 2024 (UTC)
So is the page currently incorrect? Does the ring only affect movement speed and not attack speed? —Legoless (talk) 09:42, 6 March 2024 (UTC)

Corrected page. — Wolfborn(Howl) 23:31, 8 March 2024 (UTC)
