Random Thing[edit]

Upon entering the second area, right away you come across a Falmer. This Falmer walked three steps to the right and broke a tripwire, causing the swinging gate trap to kill him. Quite amusing, and ironic considering how small the area is; One would expect he should have known it was there.

Why does a race of blind cave-dwellers use tripwires and other traps anyway? — Unsigned comment by 75.34.55.137 (talk) at 19:05 on 26 January 2012

Because they have seen idiotic (the Dragonborn being one of the few if not only exception) adventurers, caravans, and bandits stumble into their dwelling and they are getting more used to it and just waiting for their next victim, until you come in and wipe them out. Run-on sentence, but this is mere speculation based on lore and the amount of bodies I see when entering into these places. Gloomreach being on of them. I have no official source and am not serious, just making observations. — Unsigned comment by 150.250.116.33 (talk) at 17:04 on 2 February 2012

Rumble?[edit]

Has anyone else experienced a "rumble" (screen shakes and 360 controller vibrates) just outside the cave? I was going on a mountain path stroll when I discovered this location, the loc ID popped up and then I got the "rumble." Curious, because I don't have dragons activated in my game (didn't start the MQ,) and I couldn't see anything else around like giants or mammoths that may have caused it. ??? --Atomicwolfdog 22:19, 3 April 2012 (UTC)

I experience the same phenomenon randomly in dungeons throughout Skyrim. However, I didn't see it here specifically. It may be a random effect. --Xyzzy 18:07, 5 May 2012 (UTC)
On a recent, new playthrough I experienced the same rumble somewhere in the nearby vicinity - on the roads leading to Markarth. I am suspecting that it is possible premature triggering of traps in nearby Forsworn strongholds, i.e., boulders dropping. --atom 23:58, 7 August 2012 (UTC)
It mostly occurs on the road below Fort Sungard, it appears to be an attempt at throwing in earthquake tremors as this area of Skyrim would be very seismically active in real life. Lord Eydvar Talk|Contribs 08:38, 20 February 2013 (GMT)

Treasure Chest[edit]

There is a chest at the bottom of a deep pool in Gloomreach Hive. Look out for the skeleton and dive down, no potions required. Annabellalot (talk) 15:29, 23 October 2012 (GMT)

Skeever in the Cage[edit]

The skeever in the cage doesn't seem to be a skeever but a leveled animal. I had a frostbite spider at level 70 today. 109.43.114.201 21:09, 13 July 2023 (UTC)
