Skyrim talk:Frenzy Rune
Misreported magnitude[edit]
Ok so I have a char with full points in Illusion. Frenzy says it's up to level 26 (Because of the Rage perk, right) but Frenzy Rune says it's only up to level 20.
However, I tested the spells on a Burned Spriggan and Frenzy Rune appears to be of a higher magnitude then Frenzy, the way it should be. The rune worked (single hand cast) but the projectile (also single hand cast) did not.
I'm on a PC btw, and and tested (same results) with and without the Unofficial patch.
Soooo.... despite what the game says, Frenzy Rune appears the most powerful Frenzy effect possible, because it has the highest base magnitude against anything and can be dual cast. Is this right? If so, this deserves to be mentioned in the article. 77.161.90.7 01:18, 28 November 2013 (GMT)
- Some more testing reveals that although the Master of the Mind perk DOES work, dual casting does NOT. Since dual casting is basically required to make an illusion spell worthwhile, it seems the Frenzy Rune is very under-powered. Perhaps the Unofficial Patch guys get around fixing it sometime.77.161.90.7 01:53, 28 November 2013 (GMT)

- As far as i know, dual casting frenzy rune doubles the effect time rather than the increasing the power of the rune, though this needs verifying,it is possible that this is the intended way for the frenzy rune to work?,still it requires either bug-fixing or whatever it is,for time being i think it is broken and requires verfication. — Unsigned comment by 117.220.76.243 (talk) at 06:39 on 26 December 2013

- I can confirm these facts. Dual casting does not increase the magnitude of Frenzy Rune. If it did, the new magnitude would be 44, but I tested it on a level 40 opponent and it was resisted. Frenzy Rune is not affected by any Illusion perks other than Master of the Mind, nor is it affected by potions of Fortify Illusion. Its magnitude will therefore always be 20.FrozenWolf150 (talk) 19:52, 11 October 2015 (UTC)
