Bug Workaround (360)[edit]

If you found the corpse before the widow, killing her will fail the quest and thus remove it from your journal. 99.226.40.134 01:56, 1 July 2012 (UTC)

Empty-handed Completion[edit]

I've had occasions where I report to Grosta after finding the husband, and the quest completes correctly, but I end up without any reward weapon. Not sure what causes this. . .76.185.41.201 04:34, 10 March 2013 (GMT)

Leveled Quest Reward[edit]

(Tested using a level 76 character) As the article states, the quest reward is a leveled random enchanted weapon, apparently drawn from the Generic Magic Weapons list (see here). With my high-level character, all of the listed enchantments on that page seemed available, as did nearly all of the listed weapon types (Dawnguard's crossbows seemed absent). All "varieties" (except for Ancient Nord) also appeared, including Daedric. Keep in mind, however, that "leveled" only refers to what is possible--not what is guaranteed. Iron or steel is still the most likely quest reward, even at high levels. So, be prepared to reload several times if you want a higher quality item (or MANY times if you want Daedric). Fortunately, Grosta's reward is determined upon quest completion (which means you can reload until you get a weapon you prefer). Unfortunately, I have no idea when certain levels trigger--but the overall levels referenced on the Generic Magic Weapons page might also be accurate for Grosta's quest. I don't know if a PC user can use the construction set to access that information or not. (PS3 user) MrC (talk) 02:05, 1 March 2016 (UTC)
