Thaneship[edit]

I was wondering if it might be helpful to indicate which favour quests go towards helping the people of each hold in pursuit of a thaneship, or to maybe group them by location rather than type (or location, then type). That info doesn't seem readily available on this page, and seems to me to be more useful than quest type alone. As someone with minimal editing experience I didn't want to just go ahead and make that change on my own. (Also, I tried to sign this post as instructed but it didn't seem to work properly, according to the preview, maybe because I'm using my phone...?) — Unsigned comment by Obax17 (talkcontribs) at 19:01 on 15 September 2019‎

That's actually something I've been working on recently - all Favour quests increase Disposition, and therefore they all count towards Thaneship, which is why none are specifically called out. The only exception to this is any Favour quest in the Rift, as for some reason they decided to use a different counter there. They could be listed by location if you think that would help, but the individual Thane quest pages (e.g. Thane of the Reach) already do that, in addition to calling out the things beyond Favours which go towards the necessary objective, so I wasn't sure if that was necessary here as well. --Enodoc (talk) 19:05, 19 September 2019 (UTC)
To be honest, it didn't even occur to me at the time to look for a page for 'Thane of (Hold)' to figure out who to talk to. At the time, I was playing just to kill time and knocking a bunch of miscellaneous quests off the list. I navigated from the Favors page to the Assist the People page, but not to the Thane page (probably I didn't even notice the link on my phone's tiny screen). My thought at the time was it'd be useful to have the information about who lives in what hold in one central place, so someone could scan through one page and pick out who they hadn't talked to yet in any given hold to get that final 'help people' checkmark, but it's also easy enough to navigate to the Thane of (Hold) page for the same info. I do believe it'd be helpful for lazy people like me to have that info all on one page, and therefore reduce the number of clicks necessary to become Thane of 3 holds in the space of 20 minutes, but overall, I agree that it's probably repetitive and not strictly necessary. Also, thanks for the response, I wasn't sure how active these pages were these days and didn't know if I'd even get a response for something so minor, so I appreciate it! Cut favor system[edit]

I've seen one or two references to Skyrim's planned extensive favor system on the Internet. Can someone add information about it to the wiki? — Unsigned comment by 94.138.121.120 (talk) at 17:41 on 12 May 2020
