Edda Died, I Received Inheritance[edit]

I just got a message from a courier that edda died, and I get 100 gold... did they mean this edda, or some else? I cant see any new quest associated — Unsigned comment by 87.155.80.114 (talk) at 21:54 on 30 January 2012

You can inherit from several NPCs, if you've done a favor for them, it's not unique to Edda. See Skyrim:Letter of Inheritance. --Alfwyn 22:06, 30 January 2012 (UTC)
That happend to me, too. I kinda wonder how she died, since I had no vampire attack or anything in Rifton yet. Has someone a clue how that happend? --178.1.62.50 18:19, 6 July 2013 (GMT)
NPCs can sometimes die via random events or enemy spawns where they were just too close and weak to survive. The most common reasons are dragon attacks, and the vampire attacks you mentioned. — ABCface 03:25, 7 July 2013 (GMT)
Well, I just found her. She was inside Beggar's Row, lying on her sleeping place, dead. Since Dragons can't use doors, and I doubt that a vampire went in there just to kill her, I still wonder how that happend. Could it be that her death is, for whatever reason, scripted?--178.1.201.78 09:06, 7 July 2013 (GMT)
I can't find any evidence of a scripted death for her, but it's possible she ran afoul of a random battle between a thief and the city watch. --Xyzzy Talk 05:55, 21 July 2013 (GMT)

So...I killed Edda. I also killed Snilf, the other beggar loving in Riften. I'd say it was Pity that convinced me to end their "suffering" but really let's be honest. It was Molag Bal that guided my blade to the weak... Not even an hour in game later a courier approached with the news of my "inheritance" from Edda. Now wait a minute, if she really had 100 gold to give as an inheritance for when she died then wouldn't that possibly suggest sure would have more as well? At least enough for a decent meal, stay at an inn. Because I can garantee there's no way I've given her 100 in charity since I've met her. 5-10 at the most. So where and who did the money really come from. I don't think it came from the annual budget for government assistance. There's no way Riften is giving out food stamps, not the Maven Blackbriar I know. Hairokiin (talk) 07:07, 10 September 2020 (UTC)

EDDA![edit]

I "talk" and "talk" to Edda, but I cannot get the conversation box pulled up! What's happened? — Unsigned comment by 184.88.12.130 (talk) on March 16 2012

Is the Gift of Charity already in your active effects? Schiffy (talk) 14:34, 21 December 2012 (GMT)
If you stand to the left side of her around the box on the ground she will talk to you. — Unsigned comment by ‎ 58.6.198.164 (talk) at 21:55 on 2 April 2014
